Halfway Market & Mercantile — Local services in Halfway

Was blessed to live 3 miles outside of Halfway, Oregon for a short while. Would walk to town regularly, Sun or snow,... and always the Halfway Mercantile-Hardware was stopped at for shopping or just socializing. Great selection of goods considering the isolation of this small but strong community. At the Merc you get treated right, for it's about relationships. If you need something they don't have then they'll strive to get it in. A most memorable product is displayed in my photo. Their label printing device placed "BONELESS" on all meat products for some quirky reason. Am still getting a giggle from viewing this years later. PLUS- my photo of a wonderful pair of trees growing together though separate in the Pine Valley captured during a walk to town, and then 3 miles from town viewing mountains of the Eagle Cap Wilderness....

The store has gone through its challenges recovering from previous owners and building conditions, but current operators have clearly poured their heart and soul and lives into delivering a good service and value to the Halfway residents and passer-by's, such as myself. It's a small town and remote location from typical delivery channels, so expectations should be clear from the consumer, but they have a GREAT selection of product and choice, including meat and produce (and beer!!), as sustainabily available for the season and availability. Good on you Halfway Mercantile, keep continuously improving and being a great place to shop! .... That's just speaking for the grocery side, and don't forget about the Hardware and Outdoors side of the store that has plentiful product...

I have had nothing but amazingly kind service here from the nicest staff. Definitely the best service here in town and will always get my business first because of it. Might be smaller then the main market store, but their prices are lower and their customer care is...
