Final Update (This way everyone can see and make their own decisions. Just posting the emails, though had to shorten some for length) June29th-30th Me: Has this order shipped yet? If not, at this point I'd rather just cancel this order.
Pokemart: That playmat hasn’t released yet. It’s a pre-order.
Me: I've seen it at both of my local gamestores and can even still pick it up from a mail in order to Best Buy. And the playmats for the local gamestores was actually before the final fantasy set came out. Please cancel this order.
Pokemart: GTS, our wholesale distribution hasn’t received these playmats yet. Until they receive them we won’t have them. We are not Best Buy, we are a small card shop at the mercy of GTS. After a pre-order has been placed with us you have 3 days to cancel your pre-order. Please review our websites policy before ordering. (links message about not getting ultra pro on release week)
Me:That's why I mentioned the other two local gamestores that are also at the mercy and yet they still had them before the final fantasy cards are released. Which is fine, if you guys didn't get your order in time due to whoever you buy from, I understand that. However, to expect your customers to also just "deal with it" isn't something that should be asked. I'll ask one more time to cancel this order before I have to try and go through paypal.
Pokemart: You can go through PayPal all you want. Our website has policies we ask you to read before ordering. It’s at the top and bottom of our website. You placed an order with us and you’re locked in. We have a 10% cancellation fee, but since this pre-order is well past its 3 days grace period you’re stuck with the order. We can legally enforce our policies, I’ve already won several chargebacks this year already, so you go ahead and try to push through PayPal, but you won’t get very far.
Me: That works
Pokemart: (sends phone text linked)
Me: After receiving a harassment text message to my personal number, you can go ahead and keep the money and the order entirely. You don't have to ship the item. I'm done with this entirely. I don't know what kind of person does that but no thank you. Enjoy the free money I guess. You can keep this email for your record stating I no longer need the item and that you can keep the money instead, because good lord, dude. I know you're going to justify it somehow to yourself but you HAVE to be better than that.
Pokemart: You’re comparing us to Best Buy, we have been receiving all of the products in waves from GTS, I showed you the email from our rep. We can’t help we haven’t received that product yet. You’re going to get the payment my friend. You’re blowing this way up! We are a small card shop, they’re going to prioritize Best Buy first. You chose to buy through us. We appreciate the support, but we do have policies in place for several reasons.
Me: Whatever you decide to do is up to you. Again, contacting a personal phone number is just on a level I'm not going to entertain. It's just 30 bucks and it's not worth any of this. I don't know if that's something you guys regularly do but it's a breach in trust. Whatever you do or don't do with the order, I don't care anymore, as i said. Good luck with your future business and I actually do hope, despite all of this, that your orders get sorted and everything works out for your game store. I don't want them to disappear, even if I disagree with the owner.
Pokemart: We always reach out to customers directly especially when they unfairly review bomb us
Me: Good to know. Still, hope the rest of your evening goes well. I'm considering this matter closed on my end.
(They sent another message about not considering it closed, and I said thats fine, and even said: It's NOT your fault you didn't get the order on time. However, binding every buyer to a "well ... you'll get it when you get it" for an item that is no longer a pre order (as it's already out, just not with your store yet) is not a good practice. And then your attitude since has been appalling. Requested no more...
Read moreBEWARE! This was my SECOND POKEMON PURCHASE SINCE 2020. WELCOME BACK TO THE HOBBY TLDR: Mistake 1. Calling the store front right after USPS, instead of waiting to call USPS again the next day after the package was not in the mail.
Mistake 2. Not recording my phone call when I did call the store. (make sure your state is a one party state or it could be illegal)
Mistake 3. After 2 months of not getting my Pre-Order, I did not save my USPS Tracking. It cost about 1$ or so to extend the amount of time the data is saved. Normally it saves for 90 days. (I did not know this at the time and my Credit Card provider did not let me know this either.)
I pre ordered Chinese boxes and never got them. I first called him when USPS tracking said my package was "delivered" but when I checked my box, right after the mail man left, nothing was in it (I first called USPS but they said it was too early since the delivery). USPS advised me to call the merchant or call them tomorrow, so I called the store and Brandon answered. When I asked about the missing package he said that he had not shipped out the boxes yet and that he in fact did NOT ship out of NEW YORK. He then told me that he gave his provider ~$30,000 but the guy did not come through with the boxes and then the boxes went up in price. He assured me he would ship then out when they did arrive. A month later I contacted him again but then he just sent me the tracking from NEW YORK and ghosted me from then on.
As you can see the SHOP APP correctly shows where the package should originate from but as you can see it "Ships" from NEW YORK and at no point goes to HALLSVILLE.
I then put in a Dispute with my Credit Card provider. At first they did reverse the charge but I eventually lost, 20 DAYS LATER, since he sent them the tracking number from NEW YORK but I also included that when I submitted my review. If they had just advised that that was all the information he needed to win and that I should instead call USPS or at least save the tracking data so that at worst i would get paid out by USPS.
As for the Reason I lost my Dispute with my Credit Card provider was that I HAD NO IDEA THAT after 90 days USPS deletes the Tracking information for the package and this whole ordeal was...

All joking aside, a good friend of mine from high school had clued me in to a soft opening of the Texas Poke-Mart brick and mortar store. I found the staff extremely inviting and met people who are extremely passionate about all-things-Pokémon, so when I inquired about meeting on Saturdays, we ended up forming our own group.
Fast forward from December, I’m now a regular at the shop and even passed two exams to become a certified Pokémon TCG Judge and Organizer through the Professor Program.
I have made some incredible friends in the last few months that I might not otherwise have ever met, and as someone who spent the last half year in mourning after the loss of my partner, it means the world to me that I have something to look forward to again in my life. In a way, I feel it’s saved me, and it wouldn’t have happened had I not stepped foot into this store.
Yes, Texas Poke-Mart sells at market value, but sometimes market value is the better deal over MSRP because third parties dictate what something might be worth. They’ve also done everything they can to even sell just a little below market value and are often willing to make deals.
This store has so much honesty and integrity that I feel a markup on extremely desired products is a small price to pay to have a great local card shop like Texas Poke-Mart. They’re extremely welcoming and sensitive to the needs of others. I haven’t regretted spending an ounce of my time there and...
