DG Market — Local services in Hamiltonban Township

I actually used to avoid this Dollar General the past year or so because the employees that had recently started to work there were rude and made me uncomfortable when I checked out (not just me as my friend also said she witnessed this as well when I told her). It actually made me start going to Emmitsburg Dollar General instead. I tried going again within the past few months and the two employees now (no sign of the other ones) were amazing! The gentleman, I don’t know his name, is very nice and when I checkout he engages in some polite conversation and is personable. The woman, I don’t know her name either, maybe Kathy I believe? Also very personable and actually helped me when I went to checkout by showing me to a better product on sale I didn’t even see before and was exactly what I’d wanted. I hope that this Dollar General has raised the pay and gives benefits now because these are the kind of sales clerks they need and these two definitely deserve it! They go...

If you have to go to the dollar general go to the one in 22 the one in town by the campus is very dirty and smelly and the people that work there stand right at the front door and smoke . That is very disrespectful for people that don't smoke . When we have to go to that one we can not take our youngest because the cigarette smoke makes her very sick . They should really be made to clean the store and not smoke at the front door . And there are always people having out in front of the store even the people that work there hang out with people out front and they all smoke. This Fairfield Dollar General seems to be the default go-to for general things needed since the gas station next door shut down. It used to be spotlessly clean inside. It's not absolutely horrible (like I've seen in other similar stores) but it seems something changed the past year or two. There used to be a very hard-working and helpful female that worked there, she was amazing, the manager perhaps. When she was working there, the place was spotless and everything seemed to be as it should. If she was still working there now, I doubt anyone would have anything negative to say...
