I don't think there is a more beautiful space to say I do in Hampton Roads. I loved the venue, the area, the water, the rocks! Everything was amazing. The Ballroom is amazing, spacious and the floor to ceiling windows and the classic decor are really all the decoration you need for your reception. My only complaint for the venue was the Director of Events, Susan Womack. She was terribly disorganized, slow to respond and would frequently suggest or offer things and then completely forget about them. I don't live in the area so I would have to drive three hours to meet with her just to find she didn't have any notes from previous meetings or conversations. Once I emailed her to schedule a meeting time and she replied saying that day would be perfect since she was already planning to be at the property to assist with a resident St. Patrick's Day party. I responded that I would see her then and I would call her when I got on the road. I left her a message that morning as we left. When we arrived she was not available and later told me she wasn't aware I was coming. I was so confused and she was so certain I had to go back and check my email to ensure I hadn't made a mistake after all. She was the only stressful part of my wedding planning process. The rest of the staff was so helpful and attentive. I met the bar manager, the head chef, even the wait staff were all great. I absolutely recommend having your event at the Chamberlin, however, you absolutely must hire a wedding planner that can interact with Susan on your behalf so you don't go insane trying to...
Read more(I hope this gets to manager) I've came down here my whole life and parked in same spot to finish paper work in car and stair at water, I battle depression and this makes me feel at ease, (old lady(short lady short hair all black clothes just walked up to car said this is private property and I was trespassing and stated all the other parking that's off there property except there lot (she was trying to be nasty) but I just agreed and stayed polite, kill them with kindness right? And I'm gonna post my parking spot on here to. Show you that I'm not stealing parking spot or holding someone up or loud music, I'm sure the Chamberlain gets help from city of Hampton clearly there rentals aren't doing great since whole parking lot empty and if I was in wrong why didn't security show up to tell me to move, I've meet them couple times threw out the years and if ur wrong they gonna tell ya, Ohhh yeah it was raining out too!! I wasn't hurting anyone was I? Just curious asking for a friend ? Honestly tell me this, a old lady walks to far side of parking lot where she can't see who is in car and coverd her eyes to try and see me threw windshield during rain but wasn't looking for a confrontation ??? It's ok don't worry about me using ur parking spot,I don't like being around nasty hateful people and also since you never asked who I was or if I had someone there ,we will be pulling my grandparents from your property too and take them to the Chesapeake...
Read moreHappy Mother's Day. I had a reservation to bring my mother and 2 sons to brunch today. I've been to the brunch before and thoroughly enjoyed it in the past. This year from the moment we walked in the building people were rude, did not say good morning or happy Mother's day just barking orders as if we were inconveniencing them. When you step out of the elevator there are signs directing you to brunch which again, I have been to before. There was a woman at the concierge desk that was off to the side who started yelling at us. She was not visible from the elevator and we weren't aware of her until she started yelling "Where are you going?" When I checked in with her I said good morning, happy mothers day, she overtalked me asking if I had a reservation. I gave her my name, she checked us off and we walked toward the brunch area. They were running behind so we waited, no one was pleasant at all, they were scrambling and rude so we left. It was such a disappointment. I gave one star but would give none...
