Ongoing Concerns with Service and Treatment at Beauty Supply Store on Page & Hanley

I am writing to express my concern about the consistent poor customer service and mistreatment I, along with many others, have experienced at your beauty supply store located at Page and Hanley.

While I do appreciate the affordable lash services — especially the strip lashes that can last up to two weeks and help save money — the negative experiences unfortunately overshadow the convenience and pricing. Several recurring issues have been observed:

Rude and unprofessional behavior from lash techs, including ignoring customers, refusing service for reasonable hygiene requests, and exhibiting visibly irritated attitudes.

Disrespectful treatment towards African American customers, including being followed while shopping, not being greeted, and generally feeling unwelcome in a space where we are spending our hard-earned money.

Hygiene concerns, such as lash technicians not sanitizing hands between clients and improper application techniques that could pose health risks.

Limited product selection and outdated items in stock, with no sales or incentives for loyal customers.

It's extremely disheartening to see such disregard for basic customer service and professionalism. The mistreatment of Black women in beauty supply stores is a long-standing issue and must not continue unchecked. If your business relies on our patronage, then basic respect, fairness, and hygiene are the minimum expectations.

Pros and cons to this place

Pros: They put on strip lashes at a small cost and as long as my lashes don't get too worn out they hold up for about 2 weeks. Saves me so much money. They are located in a convenient spot for me. Cons: One of the lash techs are very rude and seems like she doesn't want to be bothered. If I go in and see it's only her doing lashes I will walk out.
