Feel that IF we had to breakdown 5 hrs from home it couldn't have happened in a better location, God's designed location in fact!! Our vehicle would not even turnover! Blessed to find a kind gentleman to jump it but to no avail. He helped us pull the battery & take to AutoZone just 2 blocks away. Brett from AutoZone sold us a new battery but suggested after we replaced it to come back & he'd test the alternator. Lifesaver!! As the alternator was not charging at all. It was around 5:30pm, we knew most repair shops were closed or closing but Brett & Jason L., from AutoZone, kept us calm, said no problem ... We'd be back on the road tonight, sold us an alternator & Brett found us a mobile mechanic (Matt & Nate). Jason L & Brett welcomed us into the store with our golden retriever as it was about 90 degrees outside. We literally "set up house" in the back of the store! Jason L & Brett checked on us & the mechanics numerous times to be sure we were all okay. At one point, the mechanics had just about everything under the hood (except the engine) laying on the parking lot!! It was a HUGE job getting at the alternator but we were reassured the entire time! We drove away, vehicle repaired, at about 11:30pm!! When we asked the mechanics what we owed them, they said "Pay it Forward"! Of course, we could never do what they did so we paid them (probably 1/2 of what most shops would charge us cuz who travels with that much cash?!) & said they could split it or keep it for parts for another motorist that may not be able to afford parts! On Sunday August 31st, I had a flat tire. It was just me and my two children, both under the age of 10. I was stopped at a gas station across from Auto Zone. The gas stations air pump was not working. I could not move my car. The tire was completely flat. I called over to Auto Zone across the street and told them about my situation. I asked if they had an air pump I could use. The guy was so nice and said he would come over and help me. He came within 5 minutes with a pump. He then observed that my tire could not air up completely because there was so much air coming out and I would not be able to make it somewhere to get it fixed. He suggested that I drive the car over to Auto Zone and he would patch the tire for me. He patched my tire and I was able to make it home, which was about 90 miles away. Wayne, who is the manager, was the gentleman who helped me, and he was so nice to do all those things for me! He did not have to do any of that for me!! What a great guy and excellent...

Jason L is my Angel on earth! as we were headed to Nashville our rental van was leaking oil, 2 hours into the trip. We luckily found Autozone open in Hannibal Mo right before they were to close. Jason L didn’t hesitate to run diagnostics and help teach my daughters and friends about how to check the oil levels and how to fill it. It was “bone dry” and we were so lucky we hadn’t been stranded on the side of the road. He was kind professional and cared about our safety. He educated us on the route to take to get to the nearest Rental car location, where to stay and where not to stay from a safety concern.
