I was very disapointed with the sales person I dealt with at Gateway Classic Cars Charlotte location. I visited the showroom to check out a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo for $21,000. I was short on time, so I only asked to sit in it that day because I wanted to compare it to a 1994 300ZX convertible at a different dealership out of state. The 300ZX at Gateway was nice, but I felt it was over priced for having 185,000 miles. I had decided to buy the convertible 300ZX from the other dealership because it only had 55,000 miles and a better price. (And I understand the Twin Turbo commands more money) A few days later I saw Gateway dropped the price of the 300ZX TT to $17,500. I called the sales person to schedule a test drive and he sounded aggrivated when I told him I wanted to come in to test drive the car because I was comparing it to another 300ZX, I was planning to buy the next day. He asked me "what I was trying to do?" and I said I just told you I'm trying to compare these two cars and decide which one I'm going to buy now that the price of the 300ZX at Gateway was lower. He told me I would have to pay $1000 to test drive the car! If I bought the car it would go towards the cost of the car and if I decided not to buy the car, I could use it as a credit towards another car at Gateway! I told him I wasn't paying a thousand dollars to test drive a 1990 Nissan! After that interaction, I decided to stick with my plan to buy the convertible 300ZX from the other dealership. If the sales person had been more personable and didn't come off as he didn't think I could afford the car or was serious about buying the car I wouldn't have wrote this review and Gateway wouldn't have lost a customer. I was really leaning toward buying their car instead of the convertible. The thousand dollar test drive is definitly ridicuous, but the sales person's attitudew and delivery left a bad taste in my mouth about him and Gateway. I know a lot of car enthusiast and because of this interaction I will never recommend Gateway Classic Cars. Go to Streetside Classics or somewhere else. If you do find a car you like at Gateway, I hope your experience is...
Read moreDisappointed in the condition of the 78 Ford Bronco I bought from them. I live in Ohio and bought the truck and had it shipped from their Charolette, North Carolina showroom. I was told after much back and forth that the only problem with it was the power steering pump. Got the truck delivered and I will say it is a beautiful looking truck, but every fluid the vehicle has is leaking out of it like a sieve (see picture - I changed that cardboard out this morning). For $55,000 + I would expect the vehicle to at least be in some form of 1/2 decent shape. The engine and transmission both need to be rebuilt. Leaks puddles of engine oil, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid without turning it on. I guess itâs what I get for buying the truck without actually driving it. While Iâm venting I will say that the sales rep I dealt with also wasnât the greatest at getting back to me with communication. I had to literally keep reaching out to him to see if they accepted my offer, after over a week of trying to get ahold of him he replied to one of my emails that they did indeed accept my offer. I used to sell cars and I can tell you if I had a deal I wasnât waiting for the customer to follow up with me over a week later to make the sale. Also my temp tag expired 10 days ago and I still have not gotten the title mailed to me so I canât even get license plates. Now that they've taken so long to get me the title and the temp tag expired I donât know how Iâm going to be able to drive the vehicle to the BMV to get a vin verification needed to get the license plates. Ultimately a frustrating experience for a vehicle that was not in as good of condition...

From our first conversation, Kevin was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely invested in understanding our needsâwithout any of the pushiness you often find with other salespeople. There was never any pressure, and I felt like he was on our side the whole timeânot just trying to make a sale. This made all the difference to me.
Kevinâs dedication to making this experience special really stood out. He handled every detail with care, answered all of my questions patiently, and made sure I felt confident in every decision. His professionalism, combined with a friendly approach, felt like I was working with an old friend.
