Flying out of this airport will get you a super cheap plane ticket with Allegiant. I abuse this privilege 2 to 4 times a month. When you pay 50% less than you would pay at another airpot you can expect your flights to be delayed pretty often... Unfortunately that isn't what made me leave this review. I would leave this airport half of a star, if google allowed me to... Here is my story. My flight was scheduled for an 8:47pm departure. That means getting to this tiny airport around 7:00pm. Allegiant texted me telling me my flight was delayed over an hour. Not a problem.... my ticket was only 50 bucks. The problem came when I got to the airport. My new departure time was now 9:47pm. I get to the airport just after 8:50pm. I walk up to the TSA gate and notice its closed off. I walk around for a few minutes trying to talk to anyone who works at the airport to find out where I enter for my flight. After talking to 3 separate extremely rude employees that only expressed the words "TSA CLOSED", in a very uneducated, and condescending tone. I met 1 very helpful, nice, and friendly black woman who is an Allegiant employee maybe between the age of 30-40. (trying to leave her description because I didn't get her name but if someone from Allegiant knows who I'm talking about she deserves to be someone in charge). She explained to me how TSA closes here at this airport at 9:00pm. Keep in mind that she told me that at 8:58pm on the dot. At this point I am frozen in a panic looking at my phone confused waiting for my iPhone to tell me its 9:00pm. Now by this time it's actually "9:00pm, and TSA is closed" and I am trying my best to hold my composure after dealing with such ignorance. First thing I did was call the Allegiant support number. Allegiant quickly apologized and got me on another flight from another airport. For that, ill be leaving a good review for Allegiant. As for the Concord Regional Airport, I am giving those fools that work for the TSA a callout. If they are careless enough to get off early for whatever reason, I can only imagine how careless they are searching bags. That, within itself... is an issue. The rude, clueless, and unintelligent Allegiant employees I spoke with could and should have handled the situation that was obviously a mistake on TSA's part, with a little more effort and sincerity. (Or at least the dunce at the "customer service" desk). You can bet I'm filing an official complaint with TSA about this because it costed me an UBER, an air B&B, and a 1 hour 45 minute drive to the other airport. In conclusion, I am leaving this review because of my terrible experience tonight. But, if you want a super cheap flight, FLY ALLEGIANT. They are awesome for this reason, and are otherwise very nice and helpful. However the Concord Regional Airport tonight...
Read moreFirst time using this airport. I went to Florida for a quick trip, and this airport was perfectly situated for my needs. My flight was a first morning flight, so the airport only had 10 or so passengers there when I arrived. The new parking deck and terminal are great. The parking is easy to navigate, and across the street from the terminal, $5/day. I traveled alone and with a backpack so I cannot speak to the check-in or baggage process. The staff seemed nice too. The security line was quick and easy, however, there is only ONE line, so I can imagine how it can backed up quickly. Make sure you arrive as early as they tell you to arrive. Also, if you are accustomed to the privileges of Pre-Check, that does not exist here. Be prepared to take your shoes off and take liquids and computer out of the bag. Bring your own snack and an empty water bottle to take through security. While there are snacks/coffee/water on either side of security, the choices are very limited. Approximately $2.25 for a cup of auto-drip coffee. With only two gates, the boarding process was easy, however, there is no jet bridge so be prepared to be walking to the plane in whatever elements are outside. Overall, a great little airport with easy accessibility and navigation. However, this is not CLT, do not expect those luxuries. Just like the major airline that flies from here, you will have what you need, but nothing extra. I would use this airport again...
Read moreFlight was to be 9:30pm yesterday but Allegiant decided to feed lies until 1am this morning when they finally officially cancelled the flight leaving over 200 tired passengers to scramble to get rides, get accommodations and get new flights. They forced everyone out of the freezing cold terminal, would not offer any assistance there (told everyone to call their joke of a reservation system), offered the next flight for Friday (that's 4 DAYS LATER, FOLKS) and then offered everyone $150 voucher for another flight (are you kidding me?) and then another $200 in a virtual card (IF YOU GOT IT WITHIN 48 HOURS). Personally, I had to book another flight one way to get home for $600 which included a 3 hour layover in Atlanta, had to call off work, cancel furniture delivery, inconvenience my family who had to pick me up from Concord since they are no taxis, Ubers at that time for 200 people. What was a $50 ticket quickly ballooned to over $1000 in additional expenses, opportunity and inconvenience costs. Will NEVER fly through Concord again. Oh, did I mention they closed food service at 10pm for the flight they cancelled 3 hours...
