Kroger — Local services in Harrisburg

I got gas there today and was charged a "hold fee" for $125.50. I was informed by a store employee when I called to ask, that if you run your card as debit at the pump that is what they charge you. And it takes 24-48 for it to fall off. Listen, I don't have overdraft protection SO if I don't have $ in my account to cover that it denys it! Like any reasonable adult who knows that overdraft just costs you more in the long run. No need to just take your hand,reach into my wallet and take whatever amount you feel like KROGER !!

AND FURTHERMORE... HOW ABOUT YOU POST THAT POLICY IN BIG BOLD LETTERS AT EVERY PUMP SO THE GENERAL PUBLIC THAT SHOPS YOUR STATIONS WILL KNOW THIS INFORMATION.

I shop at Kroger often. I prefer to go here rather than Walmart because at the Kroger in Harrisburg, IL you get friendly customer service. An example of their good customer service is this: I have asthma, and one day it was acting up, which causes me to cough a lot, and I was coughing that day when an employee approached me to ask if I was okay. I informed him I was, and he offered me a water.

Unlike Walmart, Kroger keeps more checkout lanes open, and on many occasions while I've been there, if lines were long, they'd call a cashier to the front and open up another lane.

The store and restrooms are always clean.

Really disappointed with the way they treat closing time. It says 9 pm online but the door was already closed at 8:48. Went to the the exit door and was told by manager or employee that they close in 2 minutes. Looked at my phone, and it's 8:49 so not really 2 minutes. We go get the item we need and go check out. 8:55 and they announce the store is now closed. The checkouts are already closed. They point us to the last lane open. Receipt says 8:58. We got out the door before 9 but it just didn't feel very nice at all. Poor customer service. Sad. They used to stay open a lot later before covid. Last time we tried to stop they closed early for...
