My wife and I recently renovated our kitchen and decided to work with counter tops direct. We found a stone we loved and asked several questions about how it would hold up. Unfortunately, we were misled on the stone, we werenât told that it was the only one and to top it off, the installation didnât go quite as planned. The piece didnât exactly fit and to make up for it, quite a bit of apoxy was used. So what we were left with was a beautiful blue, grey and white stone with an 1/8th of an inch yellow line done the seam. We then noticed immediately that even water was etching the stone. After several phone calls, a team came out to fix it. They removed most of the yellow and tried to color match what they could. After they left, we then had a multicolor line with yellow highlights. After a month of being passed off and ignored, we were finally able to get them to send out a 3rd party. By this time, we had water rings all over the counter tops and chips in 2 places. They recommended that we use a high grade seal and buff out the stone. This was going to cost the same as the stone itself $5000. We called the manager and asked that we either get this service performed or get a new counter top. We were told that would absolutely not happen. We asked to speak to the owner and weâre told that wouldnât happen either and then the manger hung up on us. We had him on speaker phone with the 3rd party present and they could not believe how we were treated. So now we have a beautifully renovated kitchen with a counter top we essentially can not use. A moist rag etched the stone, there are chips and rings all over, and the entire counter top is covered with etching from water droplets. Each time my wifeâs seeâs a new etch my wife breaks down in tears and I find it absolutely ridiculous that that was the level of service provided. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, they will not work with you nor will they take care of you if a mistake is made and they will absolutely tell you what they have to in order to get the sale. I am not one to write reviews but after spending what we did on this kitchen and counter top, I want to ensure no one else has to go through this. My wife is a real-estate agent and will be spreading the word to her...
Read moreNot even sure where to start. It took 4 different trips and 2 different crews to my home to install the countertops. They forgot to polish one of the edges against my stove and they said it was too late to do anything because they glued the seam for the adjacent slab already. I had to use sandpaper to smooth over the sharp stone edge. They left smudges all around the countertops because they were sloppy with the epoxy adhesive and didn't clean it off right away. On one of the slabs, they didn't even use adhesive to adhere it to the countertops.
The first 2 times they came, the crew dropped the slabs inside the home and then left without saying a word. They literally left and sat in the van for 20 minutes and then left without saying a word. I had to call the office to ask if they were going to come back to finish the job. The office was clueless as to why they left. The next day, they told me they fired that crew. They had 0 pride and I'm honestly not even sure they knew how to read a tape measure. The 2nd crew was a bit more helpful but it was too little too late.
This company also takes full payment before they install the countertops. They do this for a reason. Because once they have your money, you really have no recourse. Please read recent reviews; customers are not happy with this company and seem to be having bad experiences. I've made at least 5 calls to the company and left them my contact info but no one has called me back yet. Worst experience with a home contractor I've had thus...
Read moreTerrible experience with the installation and workmanship of two new granite countertops with sinks for two new custom made bathroom vanities. They damaged both of the vanities, got the adhesive all over the inside and outside of the cabinets, sawed into the cabinetsâŚdamaging both. The sinks were placed so I canât install faucets; theyâre too close to the backsplash. The faucet holes are not centered. Underneath, the sinks are held with cardboard. This is not industry standard. These guys clearly didnât know what they were doing. The installers left a mess for me to clean up. Now Iâm paying to have two new vanities made, buying new countertops and sinks; and paying to have all of this done again The manager has yet to call me back! I have placed several phone calls and sent pictures! I have spoken to him once when he answered the main work number, but I didnât get any results. Sent him an estimate for the new cabinets. So farâŚnothing. If you scroll through these reviews youâll notice that Pete, the manager at Countertops Direct, has only responded to the positive five star reviews. That speaks volumes! I canât even get him to call me back! Itâs shameful of him! Shana was pleasant and made choosing the granite a nice experience. I have never done anything like this before. Itâs sad that I now have to...
