Dollar General — Local services in Haughton

Late review. Here’s why… On/about 9/6/24 i had my package changed to be picked up here (it required a signature/id). It was an insta360 setup, about $500 worth. Took a minute for it to get directed there. 4 days went by where FedEx said it was dropped off at this location. Although this location and DG said they didn’t have it. FedEx assured me it was there. I showed up here. The two kind employees could not find it. Was looking for about 20 minutes. One kind employee then called someone, that person told them where she put my package/merchandise. The person on the phone opened up my package! Idk why, it was addressed to me. * this is a federal offense * instead on placing my contents back in the box. That employee then placed my merchandise on the shelf behind the register with other DG merchandise. thankfully, one of the kind employees working in the store was able to insure all my items were there and sincerely apologized (even though it wasn’t their fault). **what the employee on the phone did was a federal crime. * Why would she open a package not addressed to the store. Furthermore, why would she place my merchandise (that no DG in the world sells) on the shelf with other DG merchandise and throw away my box. No note left behind and my stuff misplaced in front of and behind...

I would really like for someone from Dollar General Headquarters to go into the store at 120 S Elm in Haughton, La. This store is terrifying to even walk into. It is not a problem that has just started. It has to be the dirtiest store I have ever shopped at. I went there for my last time 2 weeks ago. It is so disorganized, more than 4 isle were blocked off by stock carts that were packed so high. I would venture to say almost 6 feet high. ( not exaggerated) It was over my head and I am 5'6". It is a definite safety Hazzard. The people who work there are so rude and that is if you can find an employee. There are usually 2 people in the front and they are very busy. It is a hit and miss on what there attitude will be like. This store is very busy but as I said earlier it is in my opinion a Hazzard to walk into. I would imagine that it has a very high rate of inventory loss. This is all a really bad shame because the store is in a very good area for large volume of sales even for discount stores. I have worked in retail for a long time. You have to have good customer service otherwise why bother. The most important thing to me though is to have a place I can go shop in and it to be stocked with some kind of rhyme and reason and it needs to be clean. Please Dollar General check out your store. Words cannot describe the level of incompetence and laziness of the employees at 120 elm Street location, in Haughton. It's pretty bad when, I live just a mile from this location, but I'm willing to drive 15-25 miles away, just to go to a different Dollar General. I've lived here for 10 years and I cannot tell you when the last time I went into that store and they did not have boxes upon boxes, and those carts full all throughout the store, nothing on the shelves. the employees aren't even making an attempt to stock the shelves. Just hope, IF you decide to go-to this location, hope you don't need a buggy, because you're NOT going to be able to get through any isle.... i promise you this today is the last time I go...
