MUST READ: DO NOT GO HERE & definitely not for protective styles. I LOST ALL MY HAIR I waited for an hour for anyone to even start my hair. There was no apology or even acknowledgement of my time I asked for Marley twists and when I told her I wanted them smaller she visibly got annoyed and an attitude and continued to do them the same But unprofessionalism aside they COMPLETELY RUINED MY THICK LONG HAIR she did not know how to moisturize or detangle my 4c hair she was literally pulling out my hair. When I told her she had to start from the bottom to detangle she got an attitude But the worst thing is I asked for MARLEY TWISTS AND SHE LOCCED MY HAIR I left the salon unsatisfied by my experience & my hair definitely didn’t look like the picture I showed her but I thought it would grow on me. When I went to take it out my hair was falling out in clumps. I’ve never seen anything like it, I was crying. There was a thick gel at the root of my hair that wouldn’t come out. I called and asked what she put in my hair and she told me she used LOCK & TWIST GEL. If you look this product up people use it exclusively to create locks, I asked & payed for Marley TWISTS. Egypt used the invisible method so she was literally twisting my hair at the root with locking gel. Literally locking my hair at the root. The point of locking gel is to lock hair so there is absolutely no reason why any hair dresser should ever think it’s okay to twist someones hair together using locking gel and not know that it will create locks and knots. Regular jam that braiders use holds hair, there’s no excuse for twisting hair together with gel that is designed specifically to lock your hair. That is literally how you lock hair. What’s not clicking?? So for them to continue to justify it and not understand the issue and try to blame me is baffling & beyond troubling and proves you should not trust them with your natural hair. Run in the other direction. I’m horrified, I obviously did not put a shampoo straight to my hair. I was trying to detangle my hair & get as much gel out my hair as possible for literally a whole day before I then used a clarifying shampoo & everything else I could find online but my hair was literally locced at the root so to take it out I lost literally more than half of my hair. My hair has never been this thin in my life. I’m literally shaking I’m so mad & upset. Seeing more and more hair fall out was horrifying. The picture I included isn’t even all the hair I lost. I don’t understand how a hairstylist could do this to someone. Using the invisible method she wasn’t braiding my hair or even 2 strand twisting it at the top she was literally twisting it the way you create dread locks with locking gel. Common sense will tell you that will lock someone’s hair & ruin it. Especially in a protective style that’s meant to stay in for at least a month. There’s just no way you couldn’t know that, the name of the product is LOCK and twist so if you can read you know exactly what it does. Do not trust anyone with your hair that can’t understand that. It’s just sickening a hair stylist would do that. I did not leave my protective style in for any longer than I have plenty of times and I’ve never had experienced close to this because no person has ever TWISTED MY HAIR WITH LOCKING GEL at the root. I didn’t wait 5+ months to take out my twists, I waited about 2 1/2. As a hair stylist if you twist someone’s natural hair with locking gel the least you could do is give them a disclaimer. Why wouldn’t you tell someone that?? I have grown my hair for so long & now it’s soooo thin and I might have to cut it all out. Traumatizing. I saw this place had nice reviews & pictures so I tried it but now I’ve lost all my hair. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone, do not make the same mistake I did. DO NOT GOT HERE. This is my experience getting twists but if they could do something that terrible I wouldn’t trust them...
Read moreUnfortunately I can’t give my experience a positive rating. I got my hair done by a stylist in this salon as new client after seeing a beautiful advertisement photo for passion twists. I felt comfortable spending my money and time to achieve the displayed look on Instagram. When leaving the chair I noticed my twists were substantially larger than the photo and when I had this style prior. However, I chalked it up as a style that I would just have to get used to. Within hours of my completed hair appointment a twist fell out. A few hours after attending an outing with friends I was told I left a twist behind at game night another twist. It’s just Sunday and two twists came within hours of getting my hair done. I expressed this to owner and stylist and they offered to fix it. “ Fixing it” meant solely twisting the two that came out before I had the style for 24 hours. I’m sad, being a professional woman and knowing that any moment my hairstyle can and will unravel or fall out publicly is unacceptable. I refuse to travel over 100 minutes both ways and a toll if fixing it means just the two that fell out. Unfortunately, I’m out of over $200 and my time. A very sad and last visit for me at Amy’s Hair Creation. It is important as a small business to protect your brand...
Read moreI had my first appointment today with Amy, and I was not disappointed! I went to Amy because I was experiencing damage from a bad coloring job. I expressed my concerns to Amy, and she recommended a treatment that stopped the breakage in its tracks! We had a great conversation while she styled my hair; I really enjoyed talking to her. The salon itself is located in a very quaint, quiet area in Ardmore. It was cute, clean, and comfortable. I was in and out! I plan to continue going to her for all my hair care needs, as she does it all: curl, color, cut, and braiding. I look forward to future visits. Very proud of...
