I don't usually write reviews but felt like I needed to write one. This review is not about the owner, doggy, store, or even the yummy chocolate. This review is about the service we received. My sister and I looked for a "Chocolate Factory" All day and came across this Co towards the end of the day. Now, I know I did say towards the end of the day, I get it. We had walked in at 1525, the store closed at 1600. We were greeted outside by the owner and his wonderful pup, he was so inviting. Felt so awesome and was looking forward to walking in with the same warmth, sigh! Well, We walked in and walked right up to the bar/service table and was not greeted with a welcoming hello or even "welcome in". We were handed a menu and all of a sudden chocolate chips were being laid down one after another. We (Sister and I) attempted to ask questions and were rudely cut off every time we tried asking questions about each of the flavors... we were being rushed!!!! We were being so rushed we eventually stopped asking questions. Meanwhile, We did try engaging in conversation wirh the employee but again got cut off. At one point sister asked if we could get a cup of tea/coffee whatever the lady had just poured for the other two customers that left. We got a "No, I am not making anymore, but you can have whatever's left in that pot, and it's on me" We didn't even get a chance to ask what was in the pot before the cup was sitting in front of us.Now, my sister did take the cup and walked over to the creamers that were sitting on the counter. Sister did pick it up and smell it saying how yummy it smelled. The lady grabbed it and when I asked to smell it she rudely said "its not supposed to be touched by customers" My sister apologized multiple times stating that she didn't see a sign, she was super embarrassed. The whole visit became very uncomfortable, judgmental, stressful, unwelcoming, and flat out hurried. Now, both of us sisters did buy some chocolate not because of her hospitality but for the warm welcome we got from the owner and the dog outside. We believe in supporting local not...
Read moreWe just had the BEST experience visiting Honoka’a Chocolate! The owners were there when we visited and could not have been more welcoming. We also had such a memorable time with Naghme, who was offering samples of their chocolates. She was incredibly sweet and patient with our four kids—answering all of their many questions with such kindness and excitement. She really took the time to make each of them feel included in the tasting, which made the experience extra special for our family. They were fascinated by the different flavors and each picked out a bar of chocolate that didn’t even last a day! We left not only impressed with the chocolate itself, but also touched by the warmth and hospitality we felt from everyone there. This is without a doubt a must-stop for us whenever we’re back on the island—an awesome and truly...
Read moreSadly, our experience was horrible. We met the owner and his dog and he was great. Once he left and the employee was left alone, she rushed us through the samples with a dismissive attitude. She came across as annoyed for any questions that were asked and her answers were short and clipped. It was uncomfortable because it was clear she wanted to close the store for the day. Two other people that had been in the store with us, felt uncomfortable and left. The employee really did the company a dishonor in...
