Update: Went back to see a special screening of "Howl's Moving Castle" and was put in the same theater. Paying for special event tickets, you would think it would be in a theater not under construction. Will not be going back.
This was my first time at this cinema. We went for a special screening of "Coraline". As I used to live in a bigger city, I was so excited to see this coming here as most of the fathom events are over 2 hours away in bigger cities. My friends have been there before and invited me.
The lobby was huge and very clean. The girls running the concession stand were very polite and nice. I felt the prices were very reasonable for the size of the popcorn and drink.
My disappointment started in the theater itself. They must be in the middle of remodeling cause there were seats ripped up from the floor and resting in front of the screen and newer seats along a wall. I like to sit closer to the screen so we were on the floor level, and it felt like I was sitting in a construction zone. Then the movie started, and the sound was messed up. All of the regular sound was on the left side of the theater only. I watch this movie all the time as it's one of my favorites, and it honestly took away from the magic of seeing it in the theatre again. Considering it was a special event with a higher ticket price, I wish they would have put it in a better theater. Unless they all are like that right now, I don't know. I will most likely be back at some point, but no rush. Will stay...
Read moreWe (my son, twin daughters, their friend, my friend and her 2 daughters) went last night. After purchasing tickets i was told their bathrooms were not working and they had port a johns outside. SEVERAL people in the lobby were saying it smelled like a sewer and the bathrooms were not locked and still being used. (Because after paying $8 a ticket & buying concessions people probably did not like the idea of going outside in the cold to use a port a john). I drove 50 minutes to take my children to movies. They should have had it on the recording of movie listings and on their website. I am aware of Towns County water issue, but i do not understand how you can run a business that serves food and have NO water. I will be taking a screen shot of my review and forwarding to the health department as well as posting it on my social media accounts. I also find it appalling that negative reviews about this are being deleted. People who are willing to spend their money at any establishment deserve to have an accurate review of where they are planning on going. I have 4 children and 2 who are currently full time college students. My money will not be spent at...
Read moreThis six theatre complex has been a community asset for years. We took our daughter here when she was growing up and now we’re taking our granddaughters. I stopped in yesterday to watch the incredibly silly Beetlejuice 2024 version and had a ball. I’d streamed the original just to get me in the mood and I think this new one is better than the original. Anyway I need to comment on the upgraded seating that is being installed in some of their screening rooms. Great comfortable electric recliners with heat buttons which will lull you off to sleep if you’re not careful. It looks like the entire theatre complex is involved in an organized general refurbishment that will take some time to complete. But the sound systems have been good, climate control is perfect, big screens have clear pictures, the price. Is right, and the people...
