I was on my way to dinner with my 7 year old daughter and one of the bolts in my right front caliper brackets fell off while I was driving. I called in to see if they had replacement bolts and asked if they had tools for me to fix it. When I went in, they had the part ready and I asked again if they had tolls to help me fix it, the manager (I believe his name was Manny) was stocking one of the aisles and noticed I was waiting and began inquiring as to whereabouts of some of the associates. When their whereabouts were established, one of then associates was tasked with putting away the truck that was received that day and the manager asked him to drop what he was doing and help out, and wasn’t very nice about it. I feel like in this situation, the manage should have been the one to come to the counter and help, but that’s relative to your POV.
When the associate came to help, he’d already had the part ready (his name was Shawn D), I asked if they had tools to help (I feel like most auto parts stores have them on hand for loaners and emergencies such as the one I was experiencing). When Shawn pointed out they didn't have the necessary tools, the boss ridiculed him and offered no assistance and never left what he was doing to provide assistance. He eventually left the aisle he was stocking to order Shawn around and all but tell him how incompetent he was and again offered no assistance in providing a solution and went back to stocking the aisle. I eventually gave up and purchased the tools I needed to fix my problem and left the store.
I realized I needed a pry bar and went back in for help and no one had any clue if they had a pry bar and again offered no assistance.
10 minutes after I’d left and began calling for roadside assistance, Shawn pulled up next to me in his car and opened his trunk and offered me everything I need and began helping me, and within less than a minute, we had my issue fixed and I was on my way. LESS THAN 60 SECONDS, the only one working there with any common sense went out of his way to help and completely solved my issue. Shawn is the type of person you need running your business. Mechanics in my experience have been community people, helpful people, go the extra mile people. Shawn is that and deserves all of the credit for me getting myself and my 7 year old daughter home safely. Outside of him, the customer service in this location absolutely SUCKED. The leadership absolutely SUCKED. I’ll for sure continue to use Autozone, but I’ll never walk into the Hazleton location again.
I’m happy to answer any questions from Autozone about this issue and I sincerely hope a more serious matter doesn’t go unsolved that could have been if not for people who just don’t seem to care and someone ends up getting hurt.
Again, thank you Shawn for everything you did for me and my daughter. You’re a really good human being, and I hope you get the right karma in life. God...
Read moreJessica at the Hazleton Autozone was remarkable! she went above and beyond and gave excellent customer service when she informed me about my car better replacement. She even went outside in the freezing cold to figure out what kind of car I had (it was my mother’s vehicle which I rarely drive which is why I didn’t know the model) and gave me different options and intelligently explained why I should choose the battery that was right for that specific vehicle. Furthermore, she switched the battery for me, and during that time I asked her questions and learned about her excitement when she accepted her position here at Autozone. One of her aspirations was to become an auto mechanic, and one of the ways to achieve that was to find out as much as she can about the ins and outs of cars by working and gaining knowledge of parts here at Autozone. During the time she was changing the battery she said she need a different tool in order to get the battery bracket to release the hold it had on the battery, and I loved the fact that she didn’t give up or pouted that it was difficult, instead she took the challenge head on and demonstrated that she can over come any challenges cheerfully. I can tell that Jessica is eager to learn her craft and is careful and very organized. She is also very aware and does her job with enthusiasm. We then went inside and I asked her about my personal vehicle and while she was leading me to the parts she greeted customers and assured them that she will assist them with any questions they had. She also showed great leadership skills while she was ringing me out at the counter by listening in on her fellow co workers and making sure the customers needs were met by answering their questions and letting the co workers where they can find what they needed. All in all, Jessica has made my experience at Atuozone the...
Read moreThere's a guy named Jimmy Belair who wrote a review for this location : "Women working in auto parts store....need more knowledgeable people"
Let's say he's not outright blatantly sexist -
On Friday I call and ask the associate to look me up to see what the warranty is on my battery - it's a male on the other end of the phone. Male takes my phone number and says, "Your warranty is expired. You have no warranty left on that battery. A new one is $120, plus core"
I'm unable to afford new one, try to limp along for another day - but tha'ts not happening. I can't even charge it anymore. So I call back the next night. I got a WOMAN (OMG!) she looks up my number and - lo and behold - the warranty is good until January 2018!! FREE REPLACEMENT.
So a WOMAN (Jimmy Belair says 'need more knowledgeable people') got me a replacement battery for FREE - and saved my bacon, while a MAN looked up the same information and told me I"d need to spend $120 for a new battery - and he was WRONG.
So to Jennifer and the other woman who was doing a fine job holding down the fort on a Saturday night by themselves, I thank them both.
To Jimmy Belair, I'd say to go check yourself for a gender problem and an ego problem, because the two women who ran Autozone on October 7, 2017, did a fine job and put their male...
