The Nix Pumpkin Patch is one of those places that just feels like home the moment you step onto the farm. Located right here in Hendersonville, NC, itās not just a pumpkin patchāitās an experience that makes you slow down and appreciate the little things. Itās one of the only farms in the area where you can actually cut your pumpkin right off the vine, and thereās something so simple yet magical about walking through the field, finding the one that feels perfect, and cutting it yourself. It gives you this authentic connection to the farm that you donāt get from just grabbing one at the grocery store.
But what makes The Nix Pumpkin Patch stand out even more is how much love and effort the family pours into it. You can see it everywhereāin the way the farm is set up, the photo spots they create, the wagons they leave out for you to use, and the little touches like their Spookley corner for kids. Itās clear they want every visitor, whether local or just passing through, to feel welcomed and cared for. They offer so much more than pumpkins too. There are rows of zinnias you can pick, shelves of local produce, homemade baked goods, jams, jellies, honey, and even unique little gifts. And then there are the treatsāfresh cider donuts, hand pies, homemade ice cream, and their famous cider slushies that always hit the spot.
As much as I love the pumpkins and the goodies, the thing that makes The Nix Pumpkin Patch truly unforgettable is the people. Their staff is amazing. Every time Iāve been, Iāve noticed how friendly, helpful, and genuine they are. They donāt just hand you a bag or take your paymentāthey make sure youāre having a good time. Iāve seen them help families load pumpkins into cars, get kids excited about choosing ātheirā pumpkin, recommend their favorite donuts or ice cream flavor, and greet everyone with a smile that makes you feel like you belong there. Itās real southern hospitality, the kind that makes a simple visit turn into a memory youāll want to come back for year after year.
To me, The Nix Pumpkin Patch is more than a farmāitās a place full of heart. Itās where families can make traditions, where kids can have those simple joys of running through a pumpkin field, and where locals can feel proud of supporting a business that gives so much back to the community. Itās about fresh food, fun experiences, and meaningful connections, but most importantly, itās about the way it makes you feel when youāre there.
At The Nix Pumpkin Patch, itās not just about what you pickāitās about the memories you carry with you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy visit here was 5 days before hurricane Helene... Me and my husband decided on that Sunday September 22 2024 we would ride up to chimney rock and get on chimney rock road and go to those apple and produce places up that way. We came up on the pumpkin patch and decided to stop there.I am soooo glad we did!! I š LOVE pumpkins!!! AND they had a pick and cut your own pumpkin in the patch straight off the vine! We chose 2 pumpkins and I cut both of them straight from the vine! We had a wonderful time and took pictures of me in the patch with REAL pumpkins! I love to make jack-o'-lanterns out of them and put a candle in them a see how pretty they are lit up! I use my own imagination in my head of what face I'll carve. After we left the pumpkin patch we drove chimney rock Rd back into chimney rock and had supper at the river watch which is our FAVORITE place to eat in chimney rock! We had such a good time that day little did we know that our much loved chimney rock would be destroyed with a tropical storm and flooding 5 days later.GOD bless chimney rock and it's residents and GOD bless the pumpkin patch and we hope everyone...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really enjoy coming here each year. It's a beautiful spot and they have a lot of choices for pumpkins. Although unfortunately it has gotten too expensive. I still enjoy coming here and looking around but they want $10-12 for a small pumpkin. We went else where and got 4 huge pumpkins for $7 each. They were charging like $45 for the same size. I remember coming here a few years ago and loaded up a cart for so much less. I know it's not inflation because other local places are much cheaper. So all I can come up with is it's a tourist tax. Still a fun place to...
