TLDR at bottom of review.
If I could give zero stars I would. I bought and item from this shop, which was Rancid, Tasted Sour and Moldy. It smelled and tasted very bad. I used new utensils and tried it again 2 more times and I threw up. Woke up this morning super sick to my stomach and felt like I had a cold. I rarely get sick however I cannot confirm if it was the product or at least I couldnt convince anyone that it was bad even though I had package,product,receipt and bag of the fowl smelling stuff this store sold me just 15 hours ago.
I buy the same brand from another shop and have been buying for a few years now every single month and this was my first purchase at this shop since it was closer to my house.
Even though the vendor himself had removed it from the original package and put it in another package (which probably doesn't matter because it doesn't seem like with original packaging or not, he seems unwilling to give anyone with a valid complaint the time of day). I was not able to get a refund or store credit, the workers excuse was along the lines of telling me he does not know what I did with the product when I got home.....
What about them? how do I know what THEY did to my product because they gave it to me from an already open and unsealed bag. Granted, I should have known better than to accept the product from an already opened container but since it was my first purchase of a large amount of this product in that particular store I really wanted to give them a chance so I figured as long as it's the same brand it shouldn't be a huge problem.... I was so wrong!! and soon would regret not asking about the return or exchange policy.
so I accepted my loss of 68 dollars and asked them to at least take it off the shelf because it was obvious this could not be sold to anyone else. It smelled Rancid af!
They ignored our suggestions and said even if they would've taken back the item I was told they would have just poured it back in the package and resell it to someone else. GROSS.
I usually dont care what people do or sell at their store but even I had trouble accepting they would sell this same product to some other poor soul. There was nothing more I could do... I contacted both manufacturer and distributors about the issue so they can be aware of the problem and when Google asked "How was my visit?" I felt compelled to share my experience with you all.
Do NOT BUY KRATOM at this location. I do not want to put the manufacturer's name out there because they have great products which I've been using for years but I don't know what happened this time. I suspect these people just want to get rid of that product by any means necessary and more about losing $68 rather than losing a loyal customer that would buy at least 2 lbs a month of this product for as long as they carry it.
I will continue driving to The Vape and smoke shop in Pines even though it takes over 35 minutes to get there from my house but at least they guarantee original packaging always and return or exchange of the item if something is wrong with it.
As I said before there's really nothing else I can do other than make a formal complaint and just hope that others read my review or someone takes action so they can at least take this obviously expired or moldy product off the Shelf. I didn't make a big fuss at the store because I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I URGE any one who is buying at this store either get a sealed package or if they don't have the size you want ask them to let you smell the product before they repackage it for you to take home.
TLDR: I bought an expired rancid sour moldy product from this store. made me sick and throw up . Owner would not issue me a return or exchange (store credit). Also I was told they would continue to sell the same product to other people regardless of my suggestion to take that particular bag off the shelf as to not get anyone seriously sick even possibly SALMONELLA poisoning. All complaints and suggestions were ignored. Will not buy anything again...
