While I appreciate the effort that the owner made to assist me while I shopped here, she also came across in a way that made me very uncomfortable as well. Again and again she focused too much attention on me and even when she could clearly see that I did not want that kind of attention, she kept pushing. Aggressive customer service is not good customer service. As someone who has worked in customer service myself for many years, when I have worked in customer service I have always shown the customers respect. That means that when I encountered a customer who didn't want the extra attention and wanted extra space, I respected that and gave them the extra space that they needed. The owner clearly doesn't show this respect to people. If you don't respond to her and the additional assistance she tries to offer, she keeps pushing until she gets a response. That's rude and it's poor customer service, and it's disrespectful. When I brought this up to her and told her I felt this was rude, she responded by saying that's just the way she is. Well, that's a poor look on her as you should be able to show respect to different kinds of customers. This owner clearly doesn't care to adjust her approach and doesn't care to be respectful to people. When you make a complaint to the owner and they are rude and act disrespectful even when you are making a complaint, that says a lot about a business. I won't be back and I don't recommend this place. I have never witnessed the owner of an establishment be so rude to the customers. Though there is a first time for everything. If you are looking for a place where you will be shown respect and you have concerns about COVID-19 and you are looking for a business that will show respect to you as you are trying to keep a safe distance, you might want to take your business elsewhere, because this business takes no precautions when it comes to COVID-19 and they will act disrespectful to you should you want the...
Read moreI like to make my own homemade Mexican food, Italian, sauces, marinades, Pico De Gallo Salsa, Guacamole, etc etc. I have been trying to find GOOD vegetables and produce and THIS IS IT!!!!!! They carry fresh basil, fresh parsley, fresh cilantro, avocados, tomatoes, etc....
The only place I knew around here (Hiawassee) that has produce and vegetables is Ingles grocery store and they ABSOLUTELY SUCK..... The produce is always scarce or when they are stocked up, the jalapenos are frail and shriveled. The tomatoes are a hit and miss. The Cilantro is often days old and same with the Parsley. Ingles DOES NOT carry Basil, lol how is that??? Do the people up here not make Spaghetti sauce or cook with Basil?? Apparently they do or the Hiawassee fruit and vegetable stand WOULD NOT carry it. By the way Ingles is a JOKE when it comes to inventory and pricing, stale Bell Peppers $2 a piece, so $4 for 2, what a JOKE!!!!! I have gotten bad Bell Peppers from Ingles, cut them open to slice for Fajitas and the insides are brown, another had black bugs inside, wonderful......
Long story short, this fruit stand has REAL Produce and Vegetables........
Read moreVery nice stand with a great selection of produce, jams and jellies, etc. They also had some very pretty outdoor branch furniture for sale. What surprised me the most though were the reasonable prices on most of the items! A small basket of peaches (about 5-6) were only $5. Beefsteak tomatoes were $4 for five of them and they were just starting to ripen. The grapes however were$4.50 for a small basket that my husband and I could've eaten in 10 minutes, so pretty high in my opinion. Not sure if they were something fancy or what, but I wouldn't pay that. But overall we were impressed. Oh, one thing they really need to do is set their jams, jellies, pickeled item, pie fillings, etc. in catagories. They were just on the shelves all mixed up together making it very hard to find something you may be looking for. I've never seen that anywhere else that sells that type of product--it was worse than my...
