I've heard nothing but good things about QVD, but my experience was less than stellar for my wedding. Communication was the main concern. Our wedding was 6/21/24. I noted in an email on 10/23/23 that one of my bridesmaids is black & I wanted to make sure QVD's staff was trained to do her hair. On 6/20/24, at 7:15pm, the night before my wedding, I got a text message that this bridesmaid along w/ my matron of honor would need to switch schedules because QVD's team felt that a different stylist would be better fit for my bridesmaid who is black. This was an issue for us because 1) I already mentioned 8 months prior that I wanted to ensure QVD's staff was trained to do her hair; 2) my sister (MOH) just had a baby less than 3 weeks before my wedding, & I noted to QVD's staff that she needed to have a later start time well in advance. QVD tried to make my sister have the earliest appointment as part of this switch. This wouldn't have worked for us because most of my bridesmaids were traveling at from 45 mins away; & this switch would've impacted travel plans for many people traveling together. This one switch caused a domino effect of issues for our families, & was way last minute that QVD tried to do this switch. Our phones were on silent since we were at my rehearsal dinner. I was somehow expected to coordinate these changes just 13 hrs before we needed to show up. Had this change been requested earlier, we possibly could've made it work. It was incredibly inconsiderate to contact me the night before my wedding when we already finalized plans a week or so before. Everything QVD tried to change, I had already noted well in advance what our needs were & reasons behind it. I had already spent hours creating individual timelines for each bridesmaid. They were helping with setup & other things the AM of the wedding, so again, trying to last-minute change the schedules really was not going to work for us and our needs for the day. I tried to call Madison as soon as I saw her text, but it went straight to voicemail. A phone call from Madison would've been more appropriate than a text in this situation. I had been texting with Madison a weekish before the wedding & she answered my questions, & I thought we had things finalized. I was told Quinn would apologize to me in person the day of my wedding but she never did. She came and checked on me but no apology. Madison gave an attempted apology but it was "sorry I heard you had a "moment" last night" (since my husband called and complained about the situation), not "sorry for causing that issue last night; sorry for contacting you the night before your wedding about things you already brought up to us that we should've had handled no issue". I don't want to bash anyone, and overall, communication with Madison was ok at times but there were some rough points for sure and they were 100% avoidable. It also took over two months, & me reaching out a few times via phone and email, to even book my hair and makeup trial. I have a flexible work schedule so I was fine with whatever, but just wanted to get it on my calendar ahead of time. Every time I called the salon to ask about booking the trial, and that I still hadn't heard back etc., I was told I had to email Madison. Something else worth noting in emails/ texts with Madison is that almost every time, my name and some of the bridesmaids' names were misspelled. As the bride, I felt that it showed a lack of attention to detail for my day. I even provided correct spellings of names in writing. Madison blamed autocorrect. When I did have my trials, it was super helpful to see how the hair and makeup held up. I also wasn't expecting to have a discount when I did a re-trial (bc traditional makeup didn't hold up well, so I wanted to try out airbrush), so I appreciated the discount and the chance to see which style of makeup worked best for me. Running out of room in review space to talk about hair & makeup itself, but hair & makeup was good overall for my wedding day. It was super hot & humid so makeup especially held up better...

UPDATE: As she stated below in her response, Quinn did reach out to me after I sent her my concerns in an email. She did offer to return my Sunday fee and said she will be mailing that out to me. She did also offer an apology and validate our feelings about the experience, which I appreciate. I have updated my rating to 4 stars due to her quickly following up and doing what she logically could to make it up to us.

We got married last Sunday and the salon is closed that day, so in order to use them, we had to pay an extra $250 fee to have them come in. We decided to go with them anyway, because they are located right inside the Baker Events building, which is where our wedding was. I was in communication with Madison in the months leading up to our event and she was always pleasant and answered my questions. About two months ago she sent me a final schedule for everyone in the bridal party to get hair and makeup and had it set perfectly to have us done in time for our first look photos. Most of our bridal party arrived at 9am, some arriving for their services, per the schedule, and the rest of us to begin decorating for the wedding. Except when we got there, we were taken out of order and both of us brides were asked to get started right away, giving us no time to be involved in our decorating and having to call in friends to help, as our hair and makeup were slotted for 11am and 12pm, again per the schedule they had provided. There were three girls there, Tida, Hannah, and Quinn, the owner. We really liked the makeup that Tida did and one bridesmaid loved her updo that Hannah did. Shockingly, when it came to the hair that the owner Quinn did, it totally missed the mark and she was the one that made us all feel like she was rushing to get through everyone so she could get out of there. She also wasn't really personable at all, almost like an "I'm better than you" vibe, but fortunately the other girls were nice and chatted with us. My mom's hair looked flat and my wife's hair was supposed to be a low, side bun but instead the bun was higher up and in the center. She had these wire clips with jewels on them and one was apparently broken and instead of saying anything, she put the jewel back in the case and put the empty wire in her hair. For the front, she asked if she could trim the two long strands on either side of her head and my wife said yes, but they ended up getting chopped and were then just two flat, whispy strands. To top it off, while the last bridesmaid was in getting her hair finished up, the owner started turning lights off in the salon. This was all before 12pm when we were scheduled to be in there until 1pm. Later, when I happened to walk passed the salon again, I saw two of the girls in there doing each other's hair which left me feeling like if I hadn't paid $250 extra for you to come in, would you be in here doing this right now? All after rushing us through in under two hours, when the original schedule was for three, it felt like we were totally unappreciated as clients and mostly by the owner of all people. Maybe if you're young, straight, and super cute you'll be treated...

I had a bad experience here. I called and made an appt here as a new guest and asked for a mid-level stylist. I asked the front desk receptionist how much she thought my highlights would be. She said, "usually around $75 but probably less since you have short hair". Fast forward to my appointment, as I was getting my hair done I mentioned to my stylist that I thought the pricing was really fair. One awkward conversation later I find out she's a senior "level 4" stylist and she starts at $80-90 (can't remember exactly) for the service PLUS color. In the end, I paid ~$130 for my color, nearly double what I was quoted. As I was checking out, I mentioned to the receptionist that I was quoted wrong and with no sympathy she responds with "we're not supposed to quote pricing over the phone" as if this whole thing was my fault. She then rattles off a list of stylists (in front of a handful of other guests) in a "less expensive price range" as if affordability was the issue, not the fact that I was leaving paying double what I was quoted by her colleague. The whole thing was so embarrassing.

As for my color, I unfortunately don't love that either. Even with my "level 4 stylist" I was disappointed. I've been getting highlights for years and this set turned out chunky (not blended) and has shades of orange. I didn't get the feeling she actually was listening to me when I showed my photo, etc.

I called a manager about my experience and she apologized and was very empathetic, told me she would talk to the owners and call me back. I never got the call back from her but that's okay, either way I won't be...
