Roberto & Jake were awesome! Thank you for the tour! Roberto stayed back with the newbies and helped calm down the panic. Some snorkeling experience is needed to get the most out of your tour.
Edit: 2 hours later. I cannot in all reality give 5 stars. I will give 5 stars for part of the tour but not all.
Robert and Jake tried really hard to make this a great experience. But, for the price I paid for 3 adults, I honestly did not have a good time.
Let’s start with what I thought I was getting vs. what I got:
Transportation to and from Waikiki. ✔️
fundamentals Briefing: Start from the beach with a guide who will cover the basics of snorkeling and using the jet. ❌ - we were told how to hold the jet and what button to push. No fundamentals of snorkeling.
Getting Comfortable: Begin in waist-deep water (3ft) to practice basic snorkeling skills and get accustomed to the jet.❌ - this did not occur at all. They took us into the deep part of the ocean and told us to put in our snorkel and find. We were never given the opportunity to get “comfortable”
Guided Jet Snorkeling Tour: Once comfortable, embark on an underwater tour led by your guide, exploring the sea turtles' habitat and encountering monk seals, dolphins, and a variety of tropical fish. ❌ - We never saw seals or dolphins. Half of our group saw one turtle on the sea floor but it was quick.
Educational Experience: Learn about the ecology and conservation efforts aimed at protecting sea turtles, monk seals, and their habitat in Hawaii. ❌❌❌ - we got a quick explanation of the electrical plant that we were snorkeling by.
Up-Close Encounters: Swim alongside graceful sea turtles, observe playful monk seals, and occasionally spot dolphins as they glide through the crystal-clear waters. Marvel at the array of tropical fish that call these waters home. ❌ - only fish were present during our “encounter”.
Half of the snorkeling was me and my husband trying to catch up to the guide. Luckily Robert was hanging in the back with us.
My mask kept filming up with water and would fog up. The water was very choppy and we moved too quickly to understand what we were supposed to be looking at.
The tour cannot be considered anything other than a tropical fish encounter.
All-in-all, I had a terrible time but my 14 year old had fun and that’s all...
Read moreI recently booked a snorkeling "tour" and had a very disappointing experience, primarily due to our guide, Vince. When we arrived and mentioned that, I wanted to understand how the dynamic would work, as I'm not a strong swimmer and was a bit scared. Vince's response was passive-aggressive; he questioned why I would be scared if I had a life jacket and a snorkel jet, which was not reassuring. Our group consisted of four people, and during the instruction session, Vince snapped at one of the participants in a strong tone, telling him to pay attention. This set a negative tone for the tour. While snorkeling, I encountered an issue where my snorkel got water in it and I drack so much water. Given that I'm not a strong swimmer, I sought a shallow place to regain my composure. Instead of checking if I was okay, Vince got mad at me for not waiting for my partner so they could take a video of us together. His lack of concern for my safety and well-being was appalling.
On a positive note, another guide named Adrian was friendly and kind. He saw me struggling and came to help, which I greatly appreciated. Adrian's professionalism and kindness were the only bright spots in an otherwise terrible experience.
Vince's rude and condescending behavior made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. He should reconsider his approach to customer service, as his actions negatively impacted my experience. I would not recommend this tour, especially if you are unfamiliar with the water, as Vince's behavior was far from supportive. they only have 5 starts because they promise you more material if you give them a better rating...
Read moreOverall we had a wonderful experience jet snorkeling. There are a few things I wanted to highlight in pros and cons:
Pros: The reef and scenery are breathtaking and some of the best I have personally done. We didn’t see as much wildlife as many of the pictures show. Obviously that isn’t the fault of the company.
We were completely safe the entire trip and our guides, Vincent and Robert, were dedicated to keeping track of everyone in the group and ensuring our safety.
Cons: We found our guide’s feedback to be helpful but verging on condescending. Now I will be forthright that we are a large family with many strong personalities that can be tedious to deal with at best. There were just a few comments and intonations that caught each of us off guard.
The trip is listed as a 3 hour trip but only 1 hour is spent in the water. The tour is listed as a Waikiki tour; however, the pickup is in Waikiki and the actual snorkeling is an hour away and just north of Ko Olina. This wasn’t a big deal, just another...
