The quality of service has gone down substantially from the first time we hired Magic Carpet Steam Cleaning. We will not use this company going forward as the last visit was very unprofessional, job left incomplete as equipment was packed up before cleaning all of the area rugs, and we had to fight to get the invoice adjusted.
The owner was given a walk through prior to the date of the cleaning so that he could be shown all of the carpet, the number of area rugs we wanted cleaned, and floor to be strip waxed.
We were promised an estimate of the cost upon his return from vacation, but none was ever provided. Several requests were made for the estimate that went unfulfilled.
Due to no fault of the company, unfortunately, the strip and wax could not be done. The painters we hired were not finished painting as they said they would be. Thus, the room was not accessible. We communicated that to the owner, informing him that the painters were not done as originally planned. We tried to reschedule, but the owner was not willing to accommodate. So we left it.
I expected the owner to come prepared with all the necessary tools and equipment to do what they were hired to do and not ask us the customer for any equipment. Instead, we were asked if we had a vacuum cleaner he could use. Of course, the answer was no, he should have come prepared and brought his own.
We were extremely dissatisfied with the poor service provided. When the owner stated he was done, he was asked about the remaining area rugs, and he said that he had already packed up his equipment. This was done without verifying that the job was complete.
There was a lot of back and forth with the owner that was not necessary and, frankly, was extremely disappointing. We had used this company for several years and were our go-to company for steam cleaning and strip and wax. Now we are in the market for a new company to hire.
Sad to say that we had to sever the business relationship. Hopefully, the professionalism improves for future customers.

My initial phone conversation with a very friendly man was pleasant. He was understanding when I didn't know the size of my apartment and he shared with me what their process was and on what their technicians would do. I received emails about my appointment and text reminders, which was nice and helpful.
My appointment was scheduled between the hours of 12-2pm. They got to our place at 11:45am. They were both very friendly and didn't waste time getting their equipment ready. I was very impressed with the technicians knowledge of carpet cleaning and their expeditious handling of our carpet. I was even more impressed when one of the technicians told me that they use a NON-TOXIC cleaning material that was KID-FRIENDLY and efficient! That was a big plus for me! Before they came over, I was worried about bad fumes because I was going to have my kids with me. But, that wasn't even an issue. The smell of the cleaning material was pleasant and not overwhelming. They even cleaned the carpet in our closets, which I didn't expect but was very thankful. They moved quickly but not too quickly, meaning that they got the job done at exactly the time that they said they would but didn't ignore the small details or corners and edges.
When they were finished, the carpet looked and felt better then when we first moved in three months back!
I was very happy with my experience with this company and very thankful for the 25% discount they gave me as a special in celebrating their 5th anniversary. I wish them many, many more years of service and tons of happy customers, new and returning.
I now know who to call when I need help with my floors and I won't be calling anyone else but Magic Carpet...
Read moreI called this company to clean my carpet when I was moving out. My initial phone conversation was great! The woman was very friendly and professional. However, when the 2 guys showed up to clean, the older individual who drove the van was very rude and actually seemed kind of shady (the other guy was young and very friendly). The older guy measured my apartment square footage and told me he was going to charge me $200.00 to clean my apartment. The square footage was the same as when I had originally called the company for the quote. When I called, I was quoted $140.00 and was told the actual cleaners could work with me if I only needed a couple sections of the carpet cleaned (the carpet was in good shape). However, when I told him about my initial conversation about cleaning certain areas, the older guy told me the girl that I first talked to was new and she did not know what she was talking about. He then rudely told me he didn't bring his equipment to my apartment to only clean certain areas, he told me he was only going to clean the entire apartment, and "if I didn't like it I could call someone else..." (REALLY???) To his surprise, I said fine, and I told him he could leave. Unfortunately, you don't need a license or any specialized training to clean carpets... so the caliber of professionalism may not be the same as with other services. Based on his poor attitude and unprofessional behavior, I would not recommend this company. He may want to get some advise from the girl I first talked with in order to learn how to provide quality customer service to your customers... Being arrogant and rude to your customers probably isn't the best way to...
