Received complimentary dinner for our anniversary from casiono. First thing the host seated us and was very polite. The waiter (Elijah) saw the ticket was a comped and gratuity lined through. He rudely asked for our drink order and walked away. When he returned with 3 small slices of bread. he asked for our order. My husband advised him we wanted to be different and get soup, salads and several appetizers instead of meal because we wanted to sample different tastes. The waiter snubbed him rudely. He brought my unsweet tea but walked away quickly without asking if we needed anything. I finally got him to bring me splenda but he quickly walked away before I could ask for a spoon to stir it. Finally after 10 min stirred it with the butter knife after cleaning it. About 25 min later He brought our soups. Mine was lobster bisque. the lobster was dry and looked like a dehydrated alien. He ladled the bisque onto it quickly and walked away. The bisque was ok but loaded with butter to the point it was not able to be eaten. I was getting sick from it by the 3rd spoon. The lobster tasted like it was going bad. We got our soup. My husband got French onion which had grease floating on top.30 min later He returned dropping the salads. The lettuce was very warm and was wilting not crisp. The dressings drenched over powering. It was not edible.10 min later again appeared dropping out meal (appetizers). Crab cakes were ok. Just was not a fan of the sauces drizzled on them this was a personal taste only. The fried seafood was cold but had a good flavor. Batter was like beer battered but because clearly had been sitting out awhile. If had been served hot this would have been great appetizer as seafood in this dish was fresh. The crab claws also appeared to be older as the meat did not taste fresh. had it been fresh this would have been a great appetizer tasting the sauce. We never got a refill on tea. Server showed to quickly clear the plates and didn't speak other than to leave check, ask us to sign me ask if we wanted to go boxes for all the food on the table. We shook our heads and said no. He said really you don't want to take this with you. We said no and shook our heads shrunk our noses in dissatisfaction and stated it was not good. He never once asked how the food was nor attempted to serve us and even after learning we were dissatisfied just turned away never saying anything. I've had better service in a fast food restaurant. This was our first and last time to Jack Benions in Horseshoe Tunica. While this was a comp it wasn't because we weren't leaving a tip. We had $120 food comp. Our bill was $80. Had food and or service been well he could have walked away with a $100 tip! I've eaten at Vegas Wolf gang puck restaurants which are not even comparable. Other restraints in tunica, pearl river resort, beau rivage and even at other horseshoe restaurants. This was the worst food and service. I'm glad I didn't pay for it. But still should not have been like that. This is a fine dining establishment. Food quality was horrid and service was below standard for a fast food restaurant must less an alleged fine dining experience. Go to the buffet the servers are nice and the seafood is fresh. Or go to another restaurant at one of the other casinos. This place is a...
Read moreI would have given this place five stars if the manager hadn't treated both me and my boyfriend so poorly!!!!! Our seever, Mathew, was extremely attentive and such a delight that which is why I struggled with this one star rating. He was always smiling and made sure we were satisfied throughout our entire meal. I have worked in the hospitality and food and beverage industry for over 15 years and from my personal opinion servers like Mathew are extremely hard to find. The manager, John Hardy, is the sole reason I gave this place one star. In the middle of our meal my boyfriend had informed Mathew that his steak had quite a bit of gristle in it (FYI gristle no is defined as cartilage inedible tissue in meat). Mathew apologized and was very accommodating the rest of the meal. Manager never came to touch the table to check on us and see if our problem had been resolved. Had to ask Matthew to see if he could get the manager for us just so we could let him know so he could take steps to prevent future problems like this. John's response to our feedback not at all what I was expecting. He said "You should have told me earlier. Grill is already closed so there is nothing I can do about it." He did not apologize one single time and with a condescending attitude said "Well I hope you come back and see us still", and walked away. We were just speechless after this interaction and it definitely through us way off gaurd!!! I have always done my best to solve any of my guests problems and I certainly wouldn't treat another human being the way he treated us. It still boggles my mind that he never apologized and that is the very FIRST thing that all restaurant employees are taught to do when they...
Read moreI wish I was writing a quick "everything was great" review, but... there were definitely problems on the night we went after anticipating and looking forward to going to the acclaimed Jack Binion Steakhouse in the horseshoe casino Tunica. We had reservations for 5:15 pm on 2-19-23. We were seated right away. it was a beautiful steakhouse. Very Classy. Then our waiter appeared... not classy at all. He did not exude elegance, or class. He did not greet us in a way that made me think we were in a fine dining establishment at all. He was brash, and huffy. He quoted 2 different prices for a market priced item, and when I complained about how small it was, he shouted out a lower price. The butter came to the table in individual foil wrapped packages, even the butter for the baked potatoes. the waiter did not clear our dishes as we finished with them. When he started taking orders, he started with the men at the table, and the sodas came out in cans. My steak and baked potato were awesome. the 2 men at the table however had to trim alot of gristle off their steaks and one said his barely had any flavor. we asked for 2 go boxes and the waiter brought them and sat them on the table after we just watched a waitress at another table box her client's food up for them. Our waiter barely interacted with us. Normally we would have complained, it is usually our practice to call the manager over to brag on our servers. We decided not to complain on this night, but now I am having regrets about...
