My family and I stayed here over the Labor Day weekend and were very happy with our stay. They host was friendly and gave us great information when we showed up about the area. The location was ideal being right across the street from the Mammoth Site and right on the highway which made it easy to see other places in the area. I was somewhat concerned that being right off of the highway it could get rather noisy from traffic but I never noticed it once we were in our campsite. The campground was clean and orderly and the water, sewer, and electrical hookups all worked perfectly. There was hookups for cable as well but we didn't try using it since we were there only for the weekend and there were so many other things to enjoy!
Only "negative" (and I still stand by the 5-star review) is they are still constructing the campground but I see that as evidence that things will only get better.
The highlight for me was how responsive the staff were to us and how great they were about communicating prior to our arrival. They were flexible to our arrival time and were very responsive to text messages.
The area is amazing with all of the different activities you can participate in and we will absolutely stay here again the next...
Read moreWe had a lot of problems locating this campground. Neither the truck GPS nor our Garmin RV GPS could locate the campground. Even Google maps had a challenge. The park is new enough that locals had never heard of it and every phone calls to the campground went to voicemail and were not returned. We eventually found someone in town that gave us directions. There is no office at the campground, no one to talk with, just a building that houses the laundry room and the restrooms (did not use) The campground calls itself a resort but it is a graveled parking lot with pull through and FHU. No trees, and a very small playground. That's it. No firewood available, no change for laundry, no pool. No resort. We made reservations online and paid for a week (to visit the various national parks near by). The whole time we were there we never saw any staff. The campground appears to be mostly long term tenants that kept to themselves. I do not recommend this campground We camped at Fall River Ranch RV Resort in a...
Read moreWe stayed here as a home base for exploring Wind Cave, Custer, Rushmore, and Crazy Horse (30-90 min drives). Can't say enough good things about Melanie. We had a mechanical issue that prevented us from arriving as scheduled and she updated our stay, no questions asked and without charge. She even offered recommendations for a repair shop and greeted us with a smile when we arrived. You can instantly tell she cares.
The campground is still under construction, so there wasn't a bath house yet (fine with us since we're self-contained). Sites are flat gravel and in the open with a small patch of grass that seems to get watered a couple times per day. Our kids enjoyed the lawn games that included tetherball, bean bag toss, and ladder ball.
From what I understand, this is the first RV park allowed within Hot Springs city limits and I expect Melanie and Todd will continue to improve and make it the...
