The Houlton shopping plaza has just a few stores. Marden's is a surplus store that you never really know what they will have in stock. Andy's IGA is a fair sized grocery store. Label Shopper is a small clothing store with decent prices. Pizza Hut we all know. There is also a bank with a drive-through and ATM. There are 3 locations that are no longer open. The Sears location, which primarily sold lawn mowers and snow blowers, has been closed for a couple of years. Burger King closed its doors around 2 years ago. There is a small location at the corner of the main shopping plaza. Many businesses have tried to make a go at that location, but there is just not enough traffic to sustain anything there.
The issue with this plaza is the parking lot. This is one of the most chaotic and dangerous parking lots I have ever driven in. Vehicles coming from each store take their own route leaving the plaza. There are no separators or directions, so cars come at you from 3 directions all at once. Be wary of cars cutting across the parking lot.
