This review is not so much about an item ringing up incorrectly, but more importantly the blatant disregard and disrespect. It would've been better to simply admit the mistake and remove the sign reflecting the lower price. But no, the male(not a man) deflected and dismissed the error. He never apologized or even attempted to check the signage. Instead he disrespected my intelligence. I brought it to the attention of a female employee. She actually checked the signage and went to the male, and proceded to dismiss again. Just because this store is in the neighborhood, doesn't mean it is the only option, because it's not. If those of us in the area(black, brown & other) shopped elsewhere, and I often do, there would be no Food Town on Fondren. The consumer keeps the doors open, and nearby competition offers more variety for less $$$. Food Town needs to keep that in mind, and more importantly, offer training on providing customer service. The younger individuals that you have now at your Fondren location will cause you to lose business, all because of rudeness. No, the customer is not always right, but rudeness and disrespect is never to be tolerated. If this young male did not want to be at work, he should've...
Read moreStore was clean, well stocked and organized. I just didn't know where anything was since I don’t shop there. I had to ask a couple employees where different items were. As I checked out with the girl/lady, at the counter she didn't even speak/greet me she just looked at me. and the older person bagging my groceries didn't speak either., the cashier was apparently new because she had to call for assistant and wasn't familiar with any wic items that I had, neither was I, because, I was shopping for my daughter. The assistant told me which items were on wic, so I had to go back to get the correct bread and cheese. I went to another cashier to check out and he didn't speak either. Gees, Only 1 person was kind enough to speak to me and that was the 2nd young man bagging groceries. I should have gotten his name but I did tell him that he was the only person who spoke to me, he said really, I said yes. Employees need to be trained on customer service. I usually speak to everyone upon eye contact but, sometimes I take a step back to see who is going to speak to me first, if at all. No complaint with store, I...
Read moreWe have always shop at FoodTown. I spend $150 dollars on groceries a week for my family of 6 and today we encountered a very rude cashier who very rudely asked us if we had checked other lanes if they were opened. We asked her is she was closing and she said no. In front of us was a lady with small amount of items. She was willing to take her, but not us. We told her the other lines were busy and we heard her tell another lady in line checking out with a very sarcastic tone. “People don’t look they just go to the first line they see”. My husband heard her and asked her “You don’t want us to come to your line”? She started denying it. Clearly she didn’t want us in her line because we had a cart full of food. As we walked away she said “Bye”. The worst part of it all..the manager of the store was nearby and heard it all and didnt say or do nothing. I was so disappointed that the store $600 a month did this to us. Kroger’s or HEB would have never...
