We had work done for Stone Gate Community and Houston Lightscapes did shotty work. This was towards the end of 2021 when they did the work and we paid $18k. Michael Ackerman harassed me for payment at the end of 2021 (when I had COVID) stating they had to close their books for the year but if we needed them to go back out and fix anything, they would be happy to. We called them numerous times to come back out stating our Board was not happy with the results. They claimed to come out once, but it did not fix the issue and they started to ignore us after the fact. We had a guy check out the main entrance lighting and this is what we found: Houston Lightscapes used extension cords to connect the wiring, they left all wires exposed when they should have dug a trenches to hide the wires, the poles for the monuments were not connected in the ground with cement so they can easily be pulled out, on the side of the mounts, there are large holes where water can easily get in when it is not supposed to, the old light mounts were not removed. This is for only one section! We've called and emailed and they continue to ignore us. We've reached out to our attorney and I'm filing a complaint with the BBB next.

First class with superb attention to detail and world-class customer service. We have utilized Houston Lightscapes to illuminate both our front and and backyard features and couldn't be happier. It has garnered attention from neighbors on our street in our subdivision so much they have even lit their homes as well. If you are looking for the best lighting team across the Greater Houston area then stop your search and contact them today. Their focus and work is simply amazing!

Family owned business. Very professional interaction with customers. Free consultation and reasonable pricing. I needed to update my tree lighting to LEDs. Mike came out and assessed my needs and gave me a very good price and date for the work to be done. I love the new lights and also how quickly the work was accomplished. These lights help a large yard stay lit throughout. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants great landscape lighting for a reasonable price.

Project Date: April 2021 This company is not true to their word. Their employees flat out lie, both to the customer and the office staff about completing the job. I paid 3800 for 22 light fixtures. First time they came out they did not install all the lights. They shorted me 1, which might not seem like a big deal, but it is cause I paid a lot of money for each light. At first sight they look great and I was pleased. Then I noticed that the workers did not bury the wires deep enough, you could actually see them. I called and they sent workers out that said the first crew had done a poor job and they would come back the next day and fix the sloppy work. When they did not show up I called the office and was told the crew said the job was completed . They had closed the ticket. Michael the owner assured me that they had a money back guarantee if I was not satisfied. Obviously that is not the case. I did not ask for my money back I just wanted them to fix the sloppy work which they have not to date. When Michael came out to my home he was very personable spoke about his personal life and seemed very relatable and kind. I trusted him to do a good job. I gave him half of the money upon signing the paperwork and the complete amount owed on the day that they installed the lights. I will stress again that I had not noticed the poor workmanship until after I had paid in full nor had I noticed that they did not install all of the lights that they were supposed too. Unfortunately for me it seems as they are not going to honor their word and fix this job, but I hope that my being duped by someone that spoke nicely and seemed honest serves as a lesson to others not to trust this company. They are not honest people and they do not guarantee their work like they say they do. The whole point of paying the amount of money that I pay was because it was supposed to be high quality work. NOT THE CASE AT ALL. DON'T GET SCAMMED BY THIS MAN. Also worth noting, they don't have an office you can go to. They have to come to you. I drove out to the location they have listed and could not find the place. When I called, I was told I had to make an appointment cause they don't see customers at their location, they go to customer's homes....

We have had a very bad experience with Houston Lightscapes. The crew they sent on the day of installation didn't have specific directions regarding what to do and aggressively took shovels to my driveway to rip out a wooden expansion joint, causing irreparable harm to the driveway on both sides of the expansion joint. It looks terrible. The owner's son initially said the right thing in saying they'll do whatever it takes to fix it but has recently downplayed the damage. The work was done very poorly, and the company has not been professional in addressing the damage.

Additionally, I have seen commentary from the owner’s son that they always allow the customer to review and see the work prior to seeking final payment. This is not true at all. I specifically requested to see the work before he ran my credit card, and he said that they way they do business is to be paid upon completion even if sight unseen.

Be very careful with this company. We hired them because they had great reviews and presented themselves as professional. What has resulted is extensive damage to our property, a bad light job, and several hours/days of my time dealing with this. They have never even said they’re sorry for what has happened. Also, please review all reviews carefully as many appear...

My wife wanted 'Professional' outdoor lighting around our pool and our very tropical backyard for years. I had played with 'self installed' outdoor lighting and solar lights for years but they never held up to the elements and our yard mowing service. We shopped and received quotes from several Houston area installers. No one and I mean No One came close to listening to our ideas, presenting the 'spot on' solutions, answering all of our questions and then actually setting up an evening 'trial' showing us what the backyard will actually look like. We tweaked a few things and immediately concluded that Michael Ackerman and his team at Houston Lightscapes was who we wanted to install our outdoor lighting. Originally we were only going to go with lighting in the backyard. The additional cost to add lighting to our front yard and house was so reasonable the we included that in our installation. Houston Lightscapes delivered on every promise that was made. Their installation team was professional and courteous. They did not leave until we fully understood how the system and timer was set up. I would highly recommend Houston Lightscapes. After looking at other providers of outdoor lighting no one came close to Houston Lightscapes. Our yard and house...
