Haute Hair Salon by Anaite — Local services in Houston

I would like to share my scary horrible experience I’d endorsed here at Haute Hair Salon. From the very beginning on arrival for my appointment I was told by the owner himself that my appointment was canceled, and he personally was trying to reach me?! So it seemed that I had step up an appointment with them in the past, and I was considered a no-show back in April... Now here in December I wanted to receive an haircut/dye before Christmas. Immediately I should’ve walked away. But the owner then realized that he didn’t want to turn away a paying customer. I explained to the owner that the person I spoke to over the phone and set an appointment with I did mentioned that I might’ve called them before to set an appointment, but I never received any service from them. He’d found my name/number, and there wasn’t anything mentioned before?! The owner then explained that it was his son that took my call and set an appointment initially, but it showed in their system that I was a no-show, and that is why he was trying to contact me! I apologized for not being able to make it for my appointment in the past.. Now I was just so excited for a new hair do! Next, I explained how I wanted to go back to natural brown hair color from black brownish color, so basically a tent two or three lighter? He then Explains to me that I’ll be lucky if the hair color takes because of how dark my color was and there was “No guarantee” even with a “lift” and that it’ll have to be a process and I can come in for a second color later on, so I agreed, and proceeded with hopes that it would take enough to show the difference in color!🤞🏼 I don’t know if they did the lift treatment and it comes with the dye or it’s a separate process, but Anaite started applying the color to my hair and I sat under the hairdryer for a little while and received a wash and a rinse out. When they both started blow drying my hair right away I got the silent treatment. Without any compliments of my hair nor shows in the mirror or anything!! Almost instantly after they were done drying my hair Anaite walked away Not to see her until I was leaving and we were saying goodbye! MY HAIR WAS RUINED it was two different colors the brown dye did indeed take, but Only in my roots!!! Not to mentioned the brown dye came out a very bright red color on my roots and the rest of my hair stay the same a brownish black color. He said it was not that bad and that they explained to me that my hair would not take the color before hand so it wasn’t on them. Not that bad “I said” you told me that the dye wouldn’t take very much to my whole hair, but NEVER did you tell me just my roots will Only take! This salon is AMAZING!!!! I don’t even know where to begin. When I first showed up I was greeted quickly and was asked my name. The entire time I was there I was called by my name, to me that speaks volumes about their professionalism, and showed me that I’m not JUST a client. When I was shampooed, I got a really nice head massage, and had great conversation with Alan! Most of the time I feel really awkward as I stare at the ceiling when getting my hir shampooed. I was served a glass of wine by one of their sons while my hair was being cut by Anaite, cherry on top. And let me say this... before my hair appointment, I had hair right above my waist. Well I put it into a pony tail and chopped it off right above my shoulders, and I did a HORRIBLE job, it was all different lengths and I knew it was going to be a challenge. Anaite did an amazing job!!! I always feel like my haircuts are rushed and I leave only satisfied. I could tell Anaite really took her time, and I’ve never loved a hair cut more than this one!!! You should LOVE your hair, not just be satisfied. The place is also extremely clean!! While my hair was being cut, Anaite and Alan’s sons were vacuuming the hair. Most salons, when they finish I end up standing in my own hair and getting it on my shoes. This was a small detail I noticed and really appreciated. And my favorite thing about this place is that family is prevalent here and it’s local! I love supporting local family businesses. Their sons left while I was getting my cut and even said goodbye to me and told me it was nice to meet me! I can’t say enough good things about this place. I’m convinced that when I move, I’ll make the long drive just to come back here to get my hair cut. Stop looking at other salons and reading reviews, just come here, you won’t be...

EDIT: I wanted to revisit my original post to let you all know how amazing Anaite and Alan have been with my son. He's autistic and non-verbal. Haircuts have always been traumatic for him (and for me, too). About 3 months ago, we started working with my son and Anaite on haircuts. The first day, he barely walked in the door. Then he would go in and just sit in the shop, then in the chair. Every small bit of progress saw cheers and praise from everyone in the salon. Today, my son sat in the chair for 45 minutes while Anaite gave him a haircut. Anaite, Alan, and their sons encouraged him the whole time. They talk TO him, not around him. Anaite picks up on his signals for when he needs a break and she honors those requests. They give him high fives and fist bumps. They praise him and tell him how proud they are of him for working so hard. Angels, to be sure. I consider us blessed to have found them.

I had a wonderful experience today at Haute Hair Salon. I was immediately welcomed and made comfortable by Anaite and her husband, Alan. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and relaxing. Anaite talked with me about what I wanted in terms of styling and what would work for my hair. I love my cut and more importantly, I left feeling like I had made some new friends.
