I'm so sad to leave only a 2-star review for this team. I had hired K&M for two hair and makeup trials, both of which ended perfectly. I also hired them for my bridal shower, and rehearsal dinner. Melissa was the artist who did my hair and makeup at all of these events and I had 0 complaints about her professionalism and skill. She had done a great job for all the events I had leading up to my wedding, and I had 0 concerns going into my wedding day, but unfortunately, I was disappointed.
To add some context, I changed the schedule of when I wanted H&M for myself and my bridal party for the day of the wedding a couple of times prior to the actual wedding week. During the last change, I requested to have an additional hour added to my time slot, to which management said they cannot do, but I should not be worried because the artists will be done on time.
During the morning of my wedding, everything went smoothly, until the last hour of our appointment (11-12 pm). Melissa sent home one of the hair and makeup artists early (I was not made aware of this prior). My mom and I had our curls still pinned up and we had 20 minutes before we needed to be ready for photos. Our hair wasn't styled until then and Melissa ended up staying an entire 30 minutes past her assigned time (which I greatly appreciate). However, I was assured that everyone would be done on time, but the team didn't leave until 12:30. I was told they would be done on time which would have been at 12.
Due to the rush to get me ready (I was the bride btw), my hair started falling apart and lost its structure as soon as one hour after Melissa left. It was also frizzing, something that had never happened before when Melissa did my hair. I had to take time out of my wedding day so that my MOH could re-curl parts of my hair before going to our ceremony. It was a huge disappointment and inconvenience to my day...
All that to say, I decided to email K&M privately to see if there would be a resolve to the issue. I didn't want to leave a public review because I loved working with everyone. Their manager emailed me back right away saying that they would be in touch. However, I never got an email after that. I even sent a second email to follow up, to which I got no response. I am so disappointed with the lack of customer service I received following this issue, and this is ultimately why I decided to leave a review. I think H&M is an important decision for brides and I think honest reviews are important.
I loved working with Melissa. She did a fantastic job with my makeup and I had no complaints there, the airbrush stayed on my face all day long and she was flexible with me wanting to use my own products, and also so very patient with me as I was really stressed out the morning of my wedding.
If you end up hiring K&M for your wedding, I would caution brides to build in extra time themselves because I didn't get the feeling that K&M was able to manage their time during my wedding and unfortunately it did negatively affect me. I regret trusting that they would be done on time when I was told that. Carla is extremely pushy about what she wants rather than what the client wants. She is not comfortable with hair so will only do a few things she can and tell you the other styles will not work. I wanted a low set bun and she told me she canāt do it because it will come undone! That speaks to her lack of skill rather than the style and if she canāt do something she should not have been doing hair! She did not listen at all when told what my preference is and in the end when I told her that this is not what I wanted she made a few adjustments but said I would have to undo it. She kept on asking if I wanted it undone and when I finally said yes she kept on saying āare you sure?ā. Clearly I am not happy with it and if you are not actually going to change it then why ask? She should not be doing hair if she does not know how to. Both girls were unprofessional by the way they were talking about clients. They did not take permission before taking photos for social media. They donāt sit you in front of a mirror so you have no idea what they are doing. The make up was not what I wanted at all and if you look at their Instagram account it is all the same makeup with a ton of base, down to the same neutral lip color!! They have absolutely no idea how to do different makeup on different skin tones. I donāt live in Houston and they were recommended by somebody otherwise I would never have chosen them. I had a better experience the first day when Sam did my hair and the team was more professional. There is so much inconsistency with the girls and their work and that should be relayed to the customer when booking. They are definitely not worth what they charge...

The three stars that Iām giving are purely for Melissa and Ashley, these two girls were so sweet, obviously very confident with there skills and it showed. They did an amazing job on any of the girls they did and I am so grateful.
Sarah did makeup and she was talented as well but not on the same level as Melissa. I do think there needs to be more consistency with the talent because the two girls were using the same makeup but you could clearly tell who did who by the final product.
As far as makeup they didnāt prep the skin or set the makeup. We were told with airbrush to pat our tears which we did but we all had major tear streaks in our makeup. We didnāt receive any kind of touch up kit so I used my own that I brought to fix my bridesmaids makeup a few times throughout the night.
There was another hairstylist that did curls and styles with Ashley. I will say I was pretty disappointed with the quality of the styles. Some girls had natural curl and with the styles they showed being more polished I would I flat ironed the roots to give it a clean look, she didnāt until Melissa finally told her to. She didnāt tease a few of the girls hair that clearly needed it. Iām not sure what the deal was I just think she needs more training.
Then there was a timing issue my planner called a few days before and confirmed the hair and makeup should be done at 1:30 The girls doing the makeup didnāt receive this message so they were aiming for 2:30 that shifted everything around. One of my girls didnāt get their hair or makeup done. Kiss and makeup did refund me fore that money with no questions asked which I do appreciate and Melissa handled everything so well.
