First, let me just state that the entire process of working with Randy Bui (from initial phone call to final closing) was outstanding! If I could rate it 10 stars, I would.
After my brother passed away and I flew into town to discover my family home in complete disarray, I was depleted emotionally and physically. I had 6 different realtors/brokers visit over a 2-day period (in the midst of planning a funeral) and Randy was not the highest bid, but he was the only one that I sensed trust in his character. Interestingly, he also was the only one that did not immediately give an offer and I respected that! He promised to "work the numbers" and call back, which he did within 2 hours. Some of the realtors gave offers over the phone before even seeing the property, which did not seem right to me.
Throughout the process, Randy's communication was excellent. He stayed one step ahead of me, explaining solutions for how to close with the house in my father's name (who lives in Spain) and me living in Colorado. He understood that we were on a short timeframe and the closing of this house would allow us to remove quite a bit of stress in a tough situation. Surprisingly, in the midst of all this, every single other realtor was calling (one 2X a day) to let me know that I had made a bad decision and that the deal would fall through. They encouraged me to terminate the contract and offered to bring cash to my house. It was disheartening to observe professionals preying on someone in a tough situation. We stuck with Randy and are glad we did.
This brings me to Lynn Shearin's help (Alamo Title) in the deal. It was obvious from Day 1 that Randy and Lynn have an excellent partnership for serving their clients. I was copied on all email communication (as minor as FedEx labels), which really helped seeing that the process was moving along (especially since I had other realtors telling me it would not go through). Lynn was so responsive to multiple email questions regarding small details and some of the numbers on the HUD statement. In fact, she even responded late at night, which so impressed my Dad and me.
I received Randy's name from a realtor friend, but I don't think she had personally met Randy, so this was a shot in the dark. I have told her that if she is ever in this situation (or any of her clients or other realtors) that there is no one to use...
Read moreNWA is buying up a lot of good properties and wholesale to real estate investor. I am also setting up a lot MLS alert and a lot of time, NWA's properties are better what I can myself. It really adds another good source of deals that I can analyze. In my dealing with them, they are fast in providing all the information and willing to go the extra mile. The agent I dealt with was Henry St. Paul. He is working all the time and text me valuable information when it becomes available. It is of course expected that I can't buy everything they send but Henry was very professional and constantly update me on the newest deal. I am glad Henry is my contact at NWA as I know there will be a deal that fits my investment criteria and when that happens, I will be glad he is the one helping me out. The lending arm of NWA is Sherman Bridge. The people in Sherman Bridge are also very responsive. Time is really of essence in real estate investment so I really appreciate the speed they do...
