The place is very clean.I actually enjoy going there. On 2 Occasions recently one of the employees has been extremely rude. Arrived five forty five plenty of time to do what I need to do .Nobody's was there only one attendant. He scolded me about parking then about blocking the drive as I stopped for cardboard recycle of a small amt of household recyclable, a family of 3 not much. One day ordered me to take the ramp up and use that depository, I complied. There was a truck with a load and no driver. I headed back down to get rid of my cardboard which was only an arm load the last thing left. As i left he told me I was blocking the driveway. I retorted and said " I could just drop this right here in the driveway but I'm kind enough to walk around the front of my car to put it in the disposal. I believe in recycling, but I also believe in being treated nicely when I get here". I was not rude to him but I was very adamant.I told him he was very rude and asking. What his problem was, he said well, it's time to close he had 5 minutes left, no Customers. Coming or going I don't think this is a way to treat a recycling customer Especially? When it was very apparent that I had a problem with one of my legs and was having pain walking. Everyone wants to go home when it's time to close.Everything was done. The entry gate was already closed when I got there so all he had to do was drive out and lock the gate behind me. What I had to say to him may have been enough but if it wasn't, he needs to be corrected over this kind of behavior. Thank you for being available for recycling as there is no pick up in my neighborhood. This is my weekly effort to do my part for the Environment, even though I deal with a lot of pain in my leg and back. He told ne i always break the rules. He over did...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMeh. We've used the facility since it opened and more times than not, the workers were not particularly nice. The drop off recycling should not be in the same location as the trash dumpsters. There should be different entrances and exits for recycling without having to present a water bill and sign your life away. As long as you live in Houston, you should be able to recycle. It's for the good of the entire city anyway. People simply wanting to recycle stuff like newspapers and cardboard should not be stuck in line for hours behind people dumping construction waste and washing machines. Yes, I know it's supposed to be mostly residential, but don't kid yourself. Most households don't generate the amount of stuff I've seen on trucks waiting in the lines over the years. I live in the nearby area and see the lines on the regular. And, I don't get the dog rule either. How is my dog in her harness attached to a seatbelt in the backseat, while sound asleep presenting a problem to anyone else at the facility? It's not as though a secured dog can jump out and bite someone. Go figure. I need to recycle a bunch of cardboard and I'm honestly looking for an alternative recycling location in hope of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI called this place about 5 times (3 times before I arrived, and twice while I was waiting in this LONG line for NO reason), no one answered, so I thought I would just drive down to the location and check it out. When I got there, there was a HUGE line, lots of trucks with cardboard and construction āgutsā hanging out of the back, with a few random cars that looked like they were there for the same reason as me. Cool. Well, there are no clear instructions on what to do or where to go from here, so let me be more help than the lazy guy who waved at me to turn around when I tried to pull in the first time. If you are there to do basic recycling, just drive in the gate. The people waiting in line are there to drop off concrete and construction recyclables. I waited for 45 minutes before I found this out. The people there are zero help. Just park in the yellow squares and separate your recyclables by glass, plastic, and cardboard/paper. 3.if you have questions, donāt bother calling, just go park your car in that long, long line and walk up to the guy sitting under...
