Sellers Bros #14 — Local services in Houston

On 9/25/17, I purchased a 5 lb., roll of ground beef from Sellers. This was at the Edgebrook location in Houston. My sister recommended this store. When I opened the package the meat was spoiled. I called Sellers the same day and spoke to the manager, Juan Medrano. He told me to go in with the receipt and he would allow me to get an item(s) at the cost of the beef or get another pack of beef. On 10/20/17, I went back to Sellers. This was a month later because we were trying to finish the cleanup from the hurricane. When I got to the store another manager was there, Karen Alvarado. I told her what happened and who I spoke to and what Mr. Medrano said to do. Karen Alvarado told me to hold on while she made a call. As she was on the phone speaking to the owner, she moved the phone from her ear to say that they couldn't credit me for the spoiled ground beef because they would have to speak with the manager in charge at the time. I told her I wanted a pack of beef, not the money, but she said I would have to come back again when the manager is there. I can't begin tell you how upset I was. Customer service at the billing area is extremely rude to me. This is 4th time a encounter this guy who think he is a good teller in that window but nope he always had that bad attitude towards me. Every time I walk towards in that small window and he’s there he will give that look like, here you are again! The first time I bought a lotto ticket and was very snappy attitude! Second, he said he is going for a lunch and third, he closes the window . Now today, he said that loading cash for netspend is no longer a business for sellers brothers grocery store. I swear I did my research and yes grocery store can accept netspend card. All I want is to load a cash 100 dollar and pay the fees on it coz I want to buy something at online where I don’t want to use my real checking bank account! My brother-in-law took his sister-in-law to get some groceries today because she does not have a car. They only grabbed one grocery basket because all they needed was about 15 items each.

When they went to pay they had items that were on sale. The cashier Jennyfer P made them present their photo ID to make sure they didn’t live in the same house. She then proceeded to scold them and told them that they need to have two separate baskets and be at two different registers next time or they will not let them purchase the items on sale.

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law live in two different cities it was ridiculous and they felt humiliated. I called the store and spoke to the manager Juan and he said “the cashier did nothing wrong this is the policy, they need to use two baskets and be at two different registers next time. They cant use the same basket or split their order.”
