Horrible experience! Beware! They stole my money! I went with my family (a total of four people) to experience the food from my country of origin PR. The mofongo was pretty good but the sancocho was subpar and the rest of the food was ok. This wasn't the big problem. The big problem came when it was time to pay and they charged me a total of $116! When I saw the receipt, I noticed that they had taken a $31 tip. I asked why they took that much out for a tip and they said that they automatically add a 15% tip to a group of four or more and that it was written on the menu. When I looked at the menu, it was in very small print at the very bottom. I told them that I had no idea of they were going to take that much for a tip (30%), specially when the service wasn't all that good and that nobody would really notice that 15% tip disclaimer at the bottom of the menu. I asked for my money back and they said they couldn't reverse or cancel the transaction, so I said no problem, just give me my money back in cash and they said they couldn't do that either. I asked for the manager and they said the manager was unavailable. So that, my friends, is how I got my money stolen from this mediocre restaurant. They gave me no recourse and/or options. They should be ashamed of themselves for stealing money from people, that is not the way to...
Read moreRespectfully, keep in mind I am half PR & DR, I came to this location & ordered two meals to go, it was not busy at all & I was the only person there (even gave a tip when I made the payment before they gave me the food I order) but yet they gave me boiled stew chicken in a small coffee cup in one order which was not the chicken I ordered & they gave me half a cup of mondongo in another coffee foam cup all cups were the size of 4 fingers width & length . The tostones/Yuka/Yellow plantains were all mad soggy & Wet not fried nor crispy how it should be, The salad was a small baby portion with one slice of tomato with no flavor inside the small foam tray pocket as shown, The abichuela(beans) was mad water down but was ok , The rice was ok, and the home made juice was very water down and did not taste natural at all, Both meals coasted me about $41. As the typical friendly Carribean I would have let this go but I thought of all the Non-Carribean people who came to this restaurant and now think this is how real Carribean food tastes when it's not. Y'all suppose to represent y'all people please fix this. Also the floors were very sticky as I walked throughout the restaurant as if the moping was with dirty water because my shoe made noise every step I took, The restaurant can use some...
Read moreThe food is just the best! I ordered the mofongo with roast pork and maduros. Everything on my plate was perfection!! This is my third time eating here and I will definitely be back. This time I ate on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and, although the restaurant was about 80% empty, the to go orders were obviously taking up most of the staffs' time and attention. While we got our order timely, getting the staffs' attention afterwards was impossible and I had to walk up to the counter to make our requests known. Same for the final check. I usually eat here on a Sunday afternoon, around 1pm, and it is packed full inside the restaurant. With only two staff, I excused the slow service. I believe the problem is, they need more staff. Their business is booming, their food is delicious and their prices are reasonable considering the excellent quality. I will come back regardless, but I still hope they are considering hiring at least one more person to work in the restaurant and/or to handle the to go orders. That should bring some relief to the customers and the...
