I thought Iâd give Meijer Foods a try as I am unhappy with the MegaMart I have been going to. I had high expectations for Meijer from what I had heard from others but sadly those expectations were dashed within 15 minutes of entering the store.
I stopped at the Deli to buy two pounds of sliced roast beef and ham. When I walked up to the counter for service the two Deli Clerks were engaged in a conversation and completely ignored me.
Finally one of the people acknowledged my presence. I explained that I would like one pound of Meijer roast beef and one pound of Meijer ham, as both were on sale and clearly marked with signs on the countertop and in front of the meats.
Well, the Deli Clerk says, âYou need to be more specific about what you want!â I said, âThe meat with the sale signs right in front of each of themâ. The Deli Clerk could not seem to comprehend what that common sense statement meant, or just didnât give a care.
After repeating it three times I gave up with trying to get what I wanted, left my half full cart there, and walked out the door. I will not return. If a clerk doesnât even know what the sale items are and refuses to find out for themselves then Iâm not wasting my time educating them. Itâs not my job.
Meijer, youâve lost a potential customer because you donât train nor supervise...
Read moreThe guy behind the deli counter consistently seems like he's having a really bad day. I try to be friendly with people and he can barely grunt at you. If you can't be friendly with customers, perhaps you should be doing something else. I was checking out the meat department I saw packages of lamb chops discounted 10%. The plastic covering the black tray they come in is bulging which it's telling me that they're going bad at a rapid pace. So I asked the meat department person if he can do any better then 10%, he says no. That's the best we can do. If I buy them I have to get them home, get them out of the package as quick as possible, rinse them off, dry them and put them in plastic bags and get them in the freezer. That's not a deal. It makes me sick to my stomach to think that they're going to end up throwing that meat in the garbage because they won't discount it properly. This store seems poorly maintained, you get out to the parking lot and every island with the grass or trees has debris lying on the ground faded from sitting there for a long time. I think Meijer can do a lot...
Read moreOverall, I enjoy shopping in the store. It's clean and employees are friendly. As far as the curbside pickup, I've ordered it twice and had issues with my order both times. I will not be using Meijer curbside pickup any further. First time, I had a 2 pack of lightbulbs in my order. I was charged for a 2 pack, but received a single lightbulb box with my order. I had to go inside the store service desk to get a refund several days later. The second order I placed this past Tuesday had a couple varieties of dried spices. I indicated no substitutions because with my first order, a product was substituted and the price for that item was $15 higher than the one I ordered. Anyways, the spices. I ordered dried basil and dried oregano. Oregano was sold out, so that was taken off my order, but I was charged for basil and it wasn't in my shopping bags when I arrived home. I'm sorry, but your curbside pickup is terrible and needs some big...
