Fleet Farm — Local services in Howard

Always liked this store and never had any issues until this week's visit. Needed hair clippers and dog supplies. Couldn't find the clippers so I went on the hunt for a staff member to help guide me. Coming from the back corner of the store isle 34 I think, looked down every isle all the way to isle one. All registers were busy, service desk lady on the phone so I wait. She hangs up the phone and walks over to me (I thought, incorrectly). Nope she addressed the staff member walking up next to me. I wait, staff member walks away and so does the SD lady. I wait and move down the counter to where she parked herself to dtare off into the distance. Then there it is!!! "What? Did you want something?" Now I'd like to respond with, "No I just like going into stores to wander aimlessly and then stand at the counter forever wanting nothing!" Of course I don't because I'm not a rude person normally. I simply explained what I am looking for and where i had already checked. Could she point me in the right isle direction? She asked a couple of times "And you didn't see it by the dog food?" No, nothing in the dog/cat sections. She gets on the phone. Apparently no answer as she's sighing and mumbling under her breath. Finally on the 2nd call attempted someone answered. She says its in isle 32 (where I just came from on 2nd attempt to find it myself). Then she asked if I "needed" anyone to walk me to it's location or meet me back there? I said it'd be appreciated if they could do either. She said well everyone is busy right now but I can go back there and wait. Someone will meet me in isle 32 and show me where they are. Mind you, the isles run the entire width of the store. So i go to isle 32 and wait. After almost 10 minutes I decided to just look myself again. Sure enough, opposite side of the store as I began on, isle 32 very end of the shelf I found the clippers! Finished up my shopping in isle 32, found a few other items I can use further down. Never did see any staff member in that area. Checked out and left. But as I walked by the service desk lady I said thank you. She just looked at me and rolled her eyes. No response just the eye roll. Interesting experience and quite unlike Fleet Farm. My father worked for Fleet Farm for 45 years so I've been shopping at this store and Appleton West for as long as I can remember. Hoping they just had a one off day and my next visit is more pleasant. Now I do want to mention, the young man who checked out my items was absolutely great with his customer service and politeness. Apparently he overheard the previous convo I had with SD lady. He apologized profusely for her behavior and was genuine. He is an asset to this store and even at his young age, SD lady should pay attention to...

I have always liked shopping at this Fleet Farm because of their wide variety of items. Prices are fair, sometimes there are great deals, other times you pay a little extra. Now today was a horrible visit. My husband had spent the night before on the store website looking for shelving and found what he wanted and it was available in store at this location. We went to the store this morning and weren't sure where to find the free floating shelves. We found a group of 3 employees talking and politely asked where we could find the shelves we were looking for. One worker speaks up and says, "no we don't so those here. We have some glass shelves and that's it." My husband was surprised and reply's "that's not what your website says". The employees give us a dirty look and said nothing else. We proceeded to look and 10 minutes later found exactly what we were looking for, with so many options our heads were spinning. How do are the employees not able to help a customer with such a simple request? I was also very I'll this morning and spent more time then necessary in the store. Very disappointed. If we hadn't been on the website, we may have listened to the employee and not gotten anything today! Employees should be trained on what products are in the store, especially something that had a whole...

Went to GB West 1/6/2023 2 PM. Called store and asked for firearms department. Talked to a younger guy and asked if they could hold a gun for me because i was traveling from 30 minutes away and they only had 1 left in stock. He told me they could hold it for 3 hours. He was very nice and i told him i would be there within a hour. When i showed up at firearm department. There were 2 younger guys behind the counter and a older guy that asked if he could help me. I told the older guy i had a gun on hold for Darren and he would not let me finish . He had a bad attitude and barked at me saying they don't hold firearms for anyone/ acting like i was a liar. Then after that he said he knew that i called and asked me to show him the gun i wanted. If he knew i called, why do i have to show him the firearm if he knew what it was???? My wife said to me this guy has a bad attitude and buy the gun some place else. I traveled 30 minutes and did not want to do more traveling. I have bought many firearms/other items from appleton before but they were out of this one and that is why i went to GB West. I think i might have to consider to shop some where...
