If I could give 0 stars I would. The staff was very friendly, no problems there. We recently got a kitten, who ended up having an upper respiratory infection. They gave us antibiotics, she got better. Soon after, our adult cat became sick; vomiting, lethargy, and abnormal breathing.
Visit 1: $175 We brought our cat in the first time on a Wednesday, were told he was stressed due to the new kitten. They did no tests, only a standard exam, saying his heart and lungs sound great. Just fluids, an anti-nausea injection, and prescription wet food.
Visit 2: $388 We went back that Friday due to him not getting better. We once again explained that it sounded like upper respiratory, especially since the kitten had it. They did not listen. They took an X-Ray, said his lungs and heart looked great, but that his intestines were plicating due to a linear foreign object. (Important to note, heās not the kind of cat to eat things. We told them that many times.) They recommended we take our cat immediately to the emergency vet and hospitalize. That is no small price tag, roughly $2,000 according to the emergency vet when we called. They recommended we not feed him anything and come back in the next day for more x-rays. They gave him more fluids and pain meds and sent us home.
Visit 3: $277 We bring the cat in once again on a Saturday morning, he has discharge coming from his eyes now. Dr. Mark Russell stated that it was just a herpes flare-up. The cat goes through more x-rays, and they tell us he definitely needs surgery due to plicating intestines, and they insist that we go to the emergency vet. Emergency surgery costs nearly $5,000 and the hospitalization is another $2,000. This, in our opinion, is not a light decision, and we expected them to do their due diligence in checking our cat, to make absolutely sure he needed surgery. That unfortunately was not the case. We set up surgery with Dr Mark Russell for Monday morning. He stated his prices were cheaper for surgery, approximately $1,600-$2,000. We had two days over the weekend of worrying whether our cat would pass away, distressed that he was supposedly in severe pain. Dr Mark Russel made it very clear that our cat had a blockage and that he may not make it to Monday if we waited.
Visit 4: $347 The cat made it to Monday. They were putting him down for surgery and while sticking the tube in his mouth they noticed redness on gums. This was the first time he looked in the cats mouth. (He doesnāt like having his face touched, and every time he refused to let them, they just gave up. They jumped to surgery before trying to look in his mouth, which we asked them do by any means necessary.) They also ran X-rays again and discovered his intestines had magically gotten better. This led the doctor to call and tell us he may have stomatitis, a painful oral autoimmune disease where the only cure is teeth removal over time and pain killers. Turns out it was a small ulcer in his throat, nothing more. They gave him fluids and claimed they didnāt know what was wrong and to come back in 30 days. They sent him home with excessive discharge coming from his eyes, no prescription, and ultimately no solution. We spent a total of $1,187 to be told they donāt know.
Our cat did not get better (as expected, honestly), and we took him to Catisfaction. We described the same symptoms we had given to Dr. Mark Russell. Their team called over to get the vet records for the visits and Dr. Russell had made no mention of the eye discharge or the upper respiratory symptoms we had described, despite us asking about it multiple times.
After examining our cat, they determined it was an upper respiratory infection, and that he sounded pretty congested. For this singular visit to Catisfaction we spent $75 (not counting an additional $40 at the pharmacy they work with for medicine). We spent $1,187 under Dr. Russellās care and we were not only given no real solution, they were pushing surgery on a cat who otherwise did not need surgery and ultimately provided us with emotional suffering...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely the very best boarding facility we've ever used in the 17 years of being pet owners and in the 12 years living in the Huntsville-Madison area! From the moment we walked in we knew there was something special about Towne Park when it came to boarding our dog for spring break!! Ms. Kat gave us an entire tour of their facilities and took her time to answer questions and provide detailed information about the care and services they offer not just for boarding but for veterinary care as well, should we ever need their services or choose to switch from our current vet. I felt 100% absolute confident that my 4 year old yorkiepoo was going to enjoy his vacation with them.
The facilities are smaller and that's what I love! Lots of one-on-one attention from the employees to the animals and a good size yard to stretch in. Most of the suites have windows, which is a huge plus in my book. When you book your room, you can choose which suite (upon availability) that you want. Our dog had stayed at another facility in November and came home very depressed, weird and keeping distant from us - very unusual for doodles. He's been so happy and energetic since coming back from Towne Park and we know it's because of all the love he received.
They allow you to bring in as many items that makes the suite feel like home to your dog. For us this was his bed, blanket, toys and treats! Throughout the week they sent me photos and updated me on how well he was behaving. For St. Patrick's Day they had a little pawty. If you stay seven or more nights, a complimentary bath is included so they're fluffy and clean at pickup!!
We're already looking forward to our next trip knowing what great care he'll receive and knowing he'll love it just as much, too!
If you're an Alabama fan, be sure to request to see that suite!!! I don't want to spoil it for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe boarded our baby pom here and it was GREAT! they let us tour and see her room, we got the suite with a window, highly worth it! The other rooms were great too, there was actually a completely separate area for cats so they aren't bothered by barking, for u cat lovers, what was really great was that there was so few rooms! So u kno ur baby is getting individualized attention, I wanna say they took her out 6 to 8 times a day, they let her have all her own stuff and let us go back there and set up her bed and give love before leaving, and the best part is that they are a vet clinic, not just a pet boarding so we feel less worry while on vacation, they knew well how to administer her medicine, and they even sent us updates and photos, and since we have a pom she's very expressive and we could tell she was having a blast there. U can also sign them up for daycare and they get to play with other dogs during their stay, we didn't get to do it this time but definitely going to try for it next time. And one last thing, my cousin has actually known the owner for over 16 years and she knows well that his passion is animals, and all the staff he hires, are always passionate about animals, you definitely won't find anyone who's just there for a paycheck, every staff I spoke to had stories about their beloved pets and how they would never want this or that for their babies or would want this or that for them, so u are rlly left with peace of mind knowing they are the same type of people, or atleast, they were the same type of people as me, someone who can hardly bare to leave their pets and someone who has a hard time putting her baby in the trust of others, but I can gladly say, I'm pleased we used Towne Park and will use them again. Thanks again to the staff for taking good care of...
