Slumberland Furniture — Local services in Hutchinson

Everything about going in and checking out went great, until I had to pick up my stuff from the side building, upon arriving I rang the door bell and no one answered so I rang it again and still got no reply. A sign said we could walk in so my dad & I did. The man who was suppose to help us.. was sleeping on furniture, we closed the door to not wake him up and went back to slumberland to let someone know he was sleeping and since it was freezing outside we wanted to go back inside. As I was going to the door a lady working there by the name of Melissa (read her nametag) opened the door and said very rudely "Just open the door." (The side building door) Not letting us in the building to explain anything. Both my dad and I said "He's asleep, he's sleeping on furniture." She said almost yelling at us, with a very mean attitude "Go wake him up!". My dad replied with "Really?" . Not with a confused tone but angry and suprised because we were obviously shocked that this lady had no intention of taking action of the situation on which one of the employees was sleeping on the job. She then walks out and walks in and says something to him (waking him up) and jokingly says "And I said go wake him up." Laughing with the man who was sleeping and then looks at us and says "it's freezing outside", which is when I saw her name tag. My 92 year old Dad ordered a living room set last fall. He was so excited to get it. It took a few weeks for it to come in. After 4 months the bottom caved in on both of the chairs that were recliners. There was a table between the 2. He went into the Hutchinson store and talked to the manager. He laughed at my Dad. One of my sisters contacted the company and someone was going to come out but they never did. Now when she called the main office they said it wasn't guaranteed. When he got it he thought there was a year warranty on it, but the company never stood behind it. My sisters now are going to try and repair it themselves. My Dad was excited to have these recliners with the table in between them so he could put the phone and a beverage on it. He has a bad knee but at 92 years old he is still living on his own. I would not purchase anything from Slumberland. I don't live close by otherwise I would have made a visit to the Hutchinson store myself and spoke with the manager. Why would you laugh at a 92 year old man when he was having a problem with something you sold him & you would think, stand behind. My Dad still brings up how the manager laughed at him. How Sad that Slumberland would have a manager at one of their stores that would act like this. In my 44 years of living in Hutchinson Minnesota I have found slumberland the number one store to shop for furniture with the best deals and mostly The employees naming Mike as #1sales Representative. The quality of their furniture is top-of-the-line and their prices have yet to be beat. I would represent slumberland to everyone I know and that’s quite a few people thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion on the number one best store I believe in McLeod County area slumberland of Hutchinson Minnesota thank you. And they even have same-day delivery from time to time. And 25 years later which is today Tuesday, July 11, 2023. I went to Slumberland to look for a mattress and again I stand by Slumberland being number one store as the lady that took care of me I don’t recall her name but she was pleasant and wonderful.
