First of all I'm not happy with the fact that the public does not get to eat on the weekends on Saturday and Sunday, there have been many suffering homeless people out here including women with their children that starve to death on the weekends and sometimes in rare cases have even passed out with no nutrients in their system, and it's really sad that sometimes they'll even come to me and beg to me to give them food when I can only do so much for them and myself, second the courtyard needs to be reopened like it used to be and this needs to be every day including the weekends from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. so the suffering homeless people and the public can have a nice place to sit and relax and charge their phones and other devices so they can keep in contact with their loved ones, and third, the person who's in charge of the Indio Instagram profile of Martha's kitchen should be fired I don't know who blocked me on Instagram, but this was done out of hatred and discrimination, I didn't deserve this, if I have a problem or concern about something I have the right to speak up and not be secretly and suspiciously silenced about things that go on at Martha's kitchen, I'm just a average guy who's a regular at Martha's kitchen who I try to get along with everyone, but if there's people who have done me wrong there which has happened to me before, then I will speak up and make a report or I will keep my silence and my distance away from them, Mr CEO look into this and make these changes happen do not sit in your luxurious office chair and just do nothing about it take action and better the Martha's kitchen, and make things better, easy, and less complicated, do this for me, the public, and especially the suffering homeless people, learn to say yes which will lead you to success or you can say no which will lead you nowhere, which these things will just continue to pile up and get bigger later on in...
Read moreI went to Martha’s village today on thanksgiving , and I got 2 plates, 1 for myself and my husband, only to have the “ security of the kitchen” chase me down telling me I can’t take more then 1 plate, I tried explaining to him that I was eating there and that I got a plate for my husband because he was sitting down with my 10 month old baby. And he didn’t care he just screamed over me and told me that same thing 5 times “ you can’t take more then 1 plate home “. He then proceeded to say he was the one in charge, and he had the worst attitude. Those turkeys get donated, and left over food gets thrown out anyway, I don’t understand why y’all try to deny people food, I thought y’all were supposed to be here to help.
I’m not homeless, I went because I wasn’t able to afford thanksgiving dinner this year. I felt really unwelcomed there and he made me feel terrible when I didn’t do anything wrong in the first place. I can only imagine all the terrible things the residents go through in this place .
Please get better employees with better intentions, who have it in their heart to actually help the homeless and less fortunate, instead of belittling people and making them feel less than because your current employees get on some power trip thinking they’re better then you because they’re the “ security of...
Read moreThis is Darrell Connie's husband doing this review. I have been able to volunteer at Marths Kitchen since November. I have been helping out with the pantry and bagging of food for the clients that come in for help. I really appreciate and love this experience, the employees work very hard, long hours to help the entire community not just the people that live at Martha's Village. They even bag and give dog food out for people who have animals. I believe it's very important to volunteer your time, your money, your self to anyone that needs a helping hand. In 2014 I" botched" a suicide attempt, meening I'm still here. I was in a mental coma for 6 years, I received treatment in 2020 and am doing much better now, part of my goal is to become a citizen of this world again. I was fortunate enough to talk to the director of volunteers before Thanksgiving, told her my story and we worked out a volunteer area for me to establish my goal. You see, everyone needs a helping hand once in awhile. Please donate your time, yourself your money to a cause you believe in you dont know how...
