My Partner and I are Dodge enthusiasts and have an association with many car clubs in the area. Together we own 5 Dodges, 2 of which are Challlengers. Being cash buyers, we were looking for another Challenger and found one on- line at this dealership which had everything that we were looking for. We promptly made an appointment to see it.
My Partner had purchased a Challenger at Plaza in October 2021. He was very happy with his deal and especially pleased with the great service provided by Mike in the Parts Department so we wanted to do business with Plaza again.
We live about 45 minutes from the dealership and our appointment was arranged with Dale. When we arrived for our appointment we saw that the car wasn't there. When we talked with Dale, we were told that it was sent to another dealership an hour before we arrived (no explanation as to why). We were also told that the car, a 2022, had high mileage on it and that it was pretty much abused by the previous dealership. The fact that the car wasn't there was compounded by the fact that the same thing happened to us in February 2022 when we came in to see an advertised Chrysler 300 that wasn't on the lot when we arrived for an appointment. That would have been a sale if the car advertised had been there.
Understandably, things happen but having it happen 2 times for fixed appointments, didn't sit well with us.
After we discussed the situation together, my Partner contacted Ryan Orr to discuss this situation however, that is not the only reason for this review. Mr. Orr told my partner that he would appreciate it if "we never stepped into the dealership again." That kind of comment is uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. It was also found out during this discussion that the vehicle in which we were interested, was sold the Saturday before our appointment. We should have been notified of this before taking the trip to Plaza and told that it was sold and not listen to excuses why we arrived. We would have understood. The same thing also happened with the February appointment.
I am a retired Senior Manager and Corporate Trainer for a national bank. After many years of training customer service, sales and training staff to earn customer loyalty, treat customers or potential customers ethically and honestly, the comment that we shouldn't walk into the dealership again was probably one of the worst things I have ever heard in all my years in business. All customers are valuable, especially in this economy. With the number of people we know, and can share this experience, this could prove detrimental to any business.
I have to say that the sales tactics at Plaza need to be scrutinized and drastically improved. We will take Ryan's suggestion and never walk into the dealership again.
Another shout out to Mike in the Parts Department. Thanks for the great service you have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBrian And Josh are awesome to deal with, after being insulted and lied to by Sam on the offer for our vehicle. We told Sam when we arrived that we looked our Vehicle (2017 Jeep Patriot Latitude Sport 69,000 miles) up on KBB and it said the trade in value was around $9,000, he came back and told us our vehicle KBB value was only $4,700 (he appraised it at "fair" when it is in the good to very good category in my opinion). So I got pissed at his insulting offer and got my keys and left after some back and forth of him trying to convince me to stay and try to work something out, but I saw no sense in that since he literally just told me, that his absolute best offer would be $5,300 because he would do me a favor and wave some other fees on a vehicle we wanted to purchase. After leaving I went back on KBB and tried to figure out where his B.S figure came from, and even rating it at "fair" condition, and literally unchecking every single feature on KBB it still had a trade in value of $5,900, but once I ran it again with all the correct boxes checked in "fair" condition, it came back at $7,600. So basically, whatever paper Sam tried to lie with and show me with the KBB logo printed on it saying $4,700 could not have possibly even been for my vehicle considering there was no way KBB was appraising it that low with bare bones. About an hour after we left, I got a call from Josh (General Manager) to see why we couldn't make a deal, I explained all of what happened, and he offered me $9,000 over the phone for my vehicle, and assured me if I returned to make a deal he would put me with a more competent Sales Person. I returned and Brian took awesome care of me, I left about 2 hours later With my wife's awesome priced 2024 Jeep Wrangler, and also ended up getting $10,000 for my trade that "S-c-AMā tried to convince me wasn't worth more than $4,700, and that he was doing me a favor by giving me $5,300 for it. After my brief interaction I had with āS-c-AMā, I was dead set on not purchasing what would have been my 2nd purchase there, or ever again quite frankly, but luckily Josh and Brian came thru and saved the day..... Now that I've got all my venting out of the way, had it not been for Sam I would have rated higher than five stars if I could. Long story short, avoid āS-c-AMā at all cost and just ask for a competent salesperson to help you, my suggestion will always be Brian!! Edit, I've added a screenshot of my vehicle they now have listed for sale, that would only bring maybe $5,000 at auction if they were lucky according...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI posted a review on May 17, 2024 under jhensley. Please disregard the 5 star ratings I gave to employees at this dealership. The only truth in the review is that I did trade my 2010 Charger. These guys were holding the manufacturerās survey over my head and forcing me (blackmail) to give them a great review. If you really read that review you will see that I intentionally made it a backhanded review because I knew I would come back and correct the lies forced upon me. I found out the important survey didnāt expire until June 2nd which then gave me the upper hand. I purchased a 2023 Charger R/T . It was delivered 2 days later with damage to the rear bumper, and missing proper floor mats. It took over 3 weeks and 480 miles put onto my new car and my husbandās new Tahoe before the car was repaired. I have a bumper from a V6 Charger put onto my brand new V8 Hemi Charger. I donāt have enough space to put everything that transpired in this last month dealing with these people. I have never posted a review in my life but this one had to be done. They are dishonest, straight up liars with no integrity about themselves. All they want is a sale then they will put you through hell if thereās any problems occur. Matt Wilson is the general sales manager and he is the worst. Disrespectful and rude and upset me tremendously both times he called me. He is a very dishonest person. Jay Willet was our salesman and he is just lazy. He could have helped make my experience better when he saw what was happening but he did nothing. We were such an easy sale , he didnāt even have to do a test drive. He told me I would be taking food off of his table for his daughter if I gave a bad review to the manufacturer. Well if he did his job and actually cared about his customers I wouldnāt be saying anything negative about him. I gave him a chance to redeem himself but he failed. Iām trying to save anyone I can from going through what should have never happened to me at this dealership. Do yourself a favor and go to Jim Browne in Dade City. I wish I could give their car back and start all over. They ruined it for me. Now they will come on here and tell you how much they did for me. All they did is put tint on my windows. I would have much rather done that myself than deal with what I was put through. Iām telling you from a hard lesson learned, do not purchase a new or used car here or you will be sitting and regretting it just...
