Boat Ramp lake Murray — Local services in Irmo

This is a wonderful community resource to Lake Murray's waters! HOWEVER, how is it that this major SC area recreational boat landing has NO highway signage noting "Lake Murray dam boat landing is immediately ahead" (not at the intersection of Hwy. 6 and Hwy. 60 / Lake Murray Blvd. / going north across the dam, nor coming south across the dam from the other direction on Hwy. 6 / N. Lake Drive)? Not only this, but even the entrance to the landing has not even one sign indicating there is a public boat landing there - with the only sign at the entrance reading, "Welcome to Park Site #8." And if you just happen to turn into the entrance, you cannot see the boat landing / trailer parking area from there. Imagine people pulling a boat trailer and trying to find this right before daylight or in the dark! So, if you don't know exactly where the entrance is, one will either cluelessly continue north to cross the entire dam (with no turnaround possibility), or coming from across the dam going south, be forced to make a hazardous u-turn or find some turn-off around the incredibly busy intersection of Hwy. 60 and Hwy. 6. place is nice and easy to unload the boat on the weekdays. For the weekend though I would recommend more parking for cars bc the lot overflows into the loading and parking area for trucks. Still...
