Mastering the Wholesale Experience with Value, Inclusion, & Integrity: I LOVE COSTCOâŁď¸
Costco has redefined the wholesale club model by seamlessly blending affordability, inclusivity, & a genuine commitment to diversity, equity, & inclusion (DEI). Itâs not just a store; itâs a community hub where value meets values, & everyone feels welcome. Unbeatable Prices, Unmatched Value Costcoâs reputation for jaw-dropping deals is well-earned. From the legendary cafe to bulk staples, Kirkland Signature products (often rivaling premium brands), & discounted gas make membership fees a smart investment. Even their generous return policy underscores a customer-first approach, reinforcing trust & satisfaction. What i truly enjoy seeing is the inclusion You Can Feel! Walking into a Costco feels inclusive by design. Spacious, wheelchair-friendly aisles, multilingual signage, but most importantly diverse product selections: like global cuisines in the grocery section which reflect a deep understanding of their varied clientele. The staff, reflective of the communities they serve, greet shoppers with warmth, embodying a culture where differences are celebrated. Costco also partners with local vendors and highlights minority-owned brands, ensuring shelves tell a story of diversityâŁď¸đŤśđ˝â¨ď¸ Leading with DEI Principles behind the scenes, Costco walks the talk on DEI. They offer industry-leading wages, healthcare benefits, & career advancement opportunities, prioritizing equity for over 300,000 employees worldwide! During the pandemic, they implemented hazard pay & safety measures, showcasing respect for workersâ well-being. Their hiring practices actively welcome veterans, people with disabilities, & underrepresented groups, while internal training programs foster an inclusive workplace. Though private about specific metrics, their actions like supplier diversity initiatives & community partnerships: speak volumes! The Verdict: Costco isnât just a warehouse; itâs a blueprint for how retailers can thrive by putting PEOPLE FIRST! By delivering relentless value, cultivating inclusivity, & embedding DEI into their DNA, theyâve earned more than loyalty, theyâve built a legacy. Whether youâre stocking up for a family or a small business, a Costco membership isnât just smart shopping, itâs supporting a model that does good while doing wellâŁď¸đ
Final thought: Costco proves that ETHICAL BUSINESS & SUCCESS arenât just compatible, theyâre...
Read moreFor the past 3 years my spouse and I have really enjoyed our weekly trips to the Columbia, SC location. It was one of our weekly outings and we enjoyed it. We learned to place everything in the cart with the bar code facing up and items as separated as possible. When we got to the checkout we were always rewarded with a swift checkout. Usually less than a minute. It was a HUGE part of the experience. No matter how long the line was it was always fast. A few months ago the whole âgood experience â came to a screeching halt. Now itâs, load the items into the cart, unload the cart, place everything on the nasty inspection table, pay for the items, (Do NOT attempt to move ANY item from inspection table before the payment is complete), then reload the cart and proceed to the door for another inspection. It is horrible, slow, and feels somehow disrespectful. I canât explain the disrespectful part, but it feels the way it feels. I went to the customer service desk to discuss the situation and the possibility of canceling our membership. The representative was indifferent about the whole thing. She agreed with all of my assessment, including how disgruntled the employees have become. As proof, she was more than happy to proceed with the cancellation process. We have had this discussion with numerous employees who also seem to ânot loveâ working there anymore. This is a HUGE shift from our previous interactions over the years. Fortunately there are two Samâs Clubs nearby. I walk in to Samâs, scan my items as I go, pay in the app. and split. Like it used to be at Costco(it used to be as fast as any app). Wish I could still love Costco. But if am going to have a Walmart experience at Costco, I may as well go to Walmart/Samâs. Also, the gas prices have become almost identical and there are way more Samâs/Walmart fueling...
Read moreWe went to our local Augusta GA costco to purchase a dining table that we liked. Turns out they had sold out since we had checked stock the day before. So we called the Columbia location and were assured they had 2 in stock. So we drove the 75 miles to the store to purchase the item which was a dining set item number 1325672. We couldnât find it but the store layout was different then our local store so we went to the customer service desk. The young lady was helpful and told us it was indeed in stock and where to go look for it. We still did not find it. I stopped a team member and he said they didnât have any but if they did it would be in this area. We followed him and found nothing. He said they were sold out and hadnât had any for sometime. I pointed out that the location was showing two in stock. He seemed annoyed and got on his radio and said his boss says there is none. So back to customer service where a helpful team member verified the stock again and looked into it. He called someone up to assist and it was the annoyed team member again. I was well aware when he was sent to look that even if it was found from his attitude towards us and the gentleman at customer service we were not getting the table. After about 15 minutes the nice gentleman said they could not find a table offering his apologies and told us we could order it online from costco.com at a $200 premium over the in store price due to shipping costs. This is the second time in the last 6 months, we have had issues purchasing furniture at Costco and it is a disappointment that it is a recurring theme. Today it cost me a 150 mile drive and over 3...
