My wife and I came in on 6/9/25 for our anniversary. We wanted to try something new and go into Ryde or Isleton. This led us to Peter's Steakhouse.
Service - service was fine. We were literally the only customers here. It was a Monday, after all. Having never been here, we didn't know what to expect. I'll just say there was enough attention to us without crowding us.
Atmosphere - the restaurant is decorated like a typical Chinese food restaurant. So when we walked in we were a little confused at first.
Food & Drink - We only ordered a glass of bogle and an old fashioned. The old fashioned itself looked like it was half maraschino juice. No muddled fruits in it - just a cherry from the jar. Did not taste great at all.
We skipped the appetizers, and ordered our entrees. That included salad and bread. The bread looked like it came out of a bag from the store. As did the salad. The salad definitely looked bagged with added raisins and sunflower seeds. Not sure why anyone would add raisins to a salad with ranch dressing, but maybe that's just me.
Also the butter that was served with the bread was unsalted. Didn't realize that right away. Basically got nothing out of the butter and it kinda ruined the bread.
For our entrees we ordered the filet, mine medium rare and my wife's medium. We each got a baked potato and broccoli to go with it. The potato was very basic; cheese, butter and sour cream. Again, the butter was unsalted so the potato fell flat as well.
The broccoli was steamed but was pretty hard, almost as if raw. This wasn't really a big deal, since it was a vibrant green and looked appealing. There were about 3 pieces of broccoli each which seemed pretty skimpy.
Lastly, out filets - they were OK. Until you started tasting fish. Were they bad or just cooked on the same flat top where fish had been recently cooked? I'll never know the answer to that. I continued to eat my filet without mentioning it to my wife since I didn't want to ruin her dinner for her; she doesn't eat any seafood whatsoever.
My wife hit her limit and offered me the rest of her steak. I tried hers and it was even more fishy than mine. At that point I asked her how it tasted and proposed my theory. She agreed it did taste a little funky.
I'm not the type to complain and it seems like even if I had in this situation, it would have probably produced a similar product if they replaced it so we just left it alone.
In any case, we will not be back. For $46 a plate we expected a lot more...
Read moreI had always wanted to check this place out. Have driven past it for years. For my birthday this year I decided this is where I wanted to go and to support a local business. From the moment we walked in the door it felt warm and welcoming. The young man that served us tonight was so polite and attentive and went above and beyond in service. Now the food. My salad was delicious and very fresh. A simple starter salad but so tasty and nice size. We had the clam chowder. Clams were plentiful and cooked well. It did have a tad bit too much pepper for my taste. I dipped my bread and used the oyster crackers and it helped dull down the pepper. The portion size for the soup was huge. I will just get a cup next time! For the main course I had 12oz prime rib, broccoli, and baked potato. My prime rib melted in my mouth and the au jus was the best I have ever had!! My broccoli was cooked perfectly, soft but firm. It was lacking flavor but I added a little butter and scarfed it down. The potato was, well, a potato, lol. I usually like my skin covered in olive oil and garlic salt and having a little crisp. So for me, it was just a potato but it wasn't bad. My husband had the NY steak and he let me have a couple bites. It was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and was so delicious. He had the cream corn, of course let me try some. The corn tasted fresh. I really liked it. I did have to add a little salt to it. The hubby would've liked a little sweetness to it but we differ on that opinion, lol. My son had pretty much the same thing I did, so nothing new to report on his except that, he ate his whole plate lol. To make me feel special for my birthday dinner, they brought out this huge plate with ice cream and a scrumptious and moist brownie covered in whip cream and caramel sauce!!
I would definitely recommend this place. Great local business and a part of the delta history. We will definitely be going back :)
*For some reason the pic of my prime rib...
Read moreHonestly feel like the ratings on here are fake or friends of. The bathrooms are beyond disgusting like they don't get cleaned. Before our food even got there I noticed how I seen pieces of food laying on the floor so I looked under the table. BAD CHOICE. My stomach literally flipped there was food that looked like it had been there for weeks it was so dehydrated and gross. When my food came to the table it was supposed to be chicken Alfredo the sauce was discolored, the chicken looked like it had freezerburn or maybe they premade It and left it in the refrigerator for atleast a week so they would not have to make fresh. I took one bite and I could tell there was something wrong. I made the choice not to continue after one bite. When my man asked for the check not saying anything as the female owner was quite rude when she pushed for box seeing it was untouched. He told her I didn't like it and wanted to pay, she became quite upset. Telling me I didn't like the style and seemed very irritated that I dare not eat it as if she doesn't see how unsanitary the restaurant is by itself. I decided to just go to the car because I was raised not to be rude. It appeared as if she found that an opening to be more passive aggressive and make snide comments about me to my husband. All of this experience was quite weird and the irritation from her was very off. Instead of asking why I didn't like it she ridiculed me when I didn't even want to say anything. I just wanted to pay and leave. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. Something is off the food is room temperature, not cooked correct , and smelled bad. It's needs...
