After a terrible experience in Afton, we started taking our Wagoneer to Jackson for service appointments. Although they didnât get grease marks all over the car, service appointments were always super long, the quickest being three hours for snow tire mounting, but we had six hour long appointments just to mount tires. The âbestâ experience we had was three hours and we still ended up driving away and TPMS service light came on. After taking it to a different shop to get summer tires back on they brought us the faulty TPMS sensor which was cracked nearly in half, and we paid to have replaced. We bought a Grand Wagoneer in February, but when we initially tried to see it on the day it was posted to Jackson classifieds, they couldnât find the car. Eventually they realized the sales manager had taken it on a personal trip. We came in another evening after work, and ended up buying the car. It hadnât been detailed, so there was various trash around, crumbs and snacks on the floor, and the exterior was obviously dirty from winter roads too. After getting the paperwork done no one could find a key for the new car, but the car started so everyone figured the key fell between the seats or something, and we could just find it at home and they would order us a second key. The paperwork was finished after they had closed, but none of it accounted for appx. 2,000 miles that had been driven on the trip, which cut into the extended warranty and service contract that we also purchased. After some extensive searching on our part, we couldnât find the key. They did find one at the dealership the next morning though, so they sent it to the Afton store (where we were given someone elseâs loan documents with their personal information and SS numbers in addition to the key). Two employees there also looked for the key while I was there and were unsuccessful. A few days later the salesman stopped replying to my messages, so I called directly to ask about a second key. I was told âI think where we are on this car is we lost money, and technically you have two keys, so if you would like an additional one youâd have to purchase that. Â I can get that ordered for you right now if youâd likeâ then promptly denied saying that when confronted about it and said he would just have to speak to the sales manager. At this point we did have one key, but the other is apparently lost inside the car, which unfortunately means anyone that gets into the car can drive away with it. Despite having had the vehicle for I believe ~170 days, when we schedule an appointment for snow tires that we purchased from them, the shop had no record of the vehicle. That meant I had a five hour service appointment to take care of the active recalls and service maintenance that hadnât been done, as well as another (unsuccessful) search for the key. I was told that before they order a new key they want to have a level 3 tech dismantle the console and other parts to look for it. The (possibly only) bright spot in our experience was Floyd saying that he didnât want a tech who has been working all day and dirty inside the car looking for key, so we scheduled another appointment. I later called and explained that I didnât want my car dismantled, but the Uconnect box needs service, so Iâd still like to come in. I was told I could come at 2, so I drove the 1.5 hours to Jackson only for them to say I didnât have an appointment and would need to reschedule and come back. At this point I called the GM and told him what had happened, which resulted in another terrible experience with the Afton store. Eventually we spoke to someone at Stellantis, who said the sales manager would reach out to us. He never did and nothing was ever resolved. We chose to cancel our service contract with them (the finance guy was awesome and even asked if we ever got that second key). It is clear that there are issues across all of their locations that they arenât interested in resolving. We will never purchase another vehicle from them or support their...
Read moreMy wife and I just purchased a 2013 Nissan Xterra from Rocky Mountain Yeti in Jackson. With this being our first winter in the Tetons, we had been looking for a car to get us around without breaking our budget. I have to state up front that based on our prior car buying experiences, both this time and in the past, car buying is something I usually approach with all the anticipation usually reserved for root canals. Since Yeti was not the first, second, or even third dealership we had visited in our car recent search I went in with low expectation. When we arrived at Yeti for a pre-arranged test drive we were greeted by Wes Murdock. Wes was very helpful and most importantly, no pressure. After trying out a couple of cars we had seen online, my wife saw the Xterra. It was fairly low mileage and clean. Pretty much what we were looking for. Wes and I discussed price and Wes agreed to replace the Xterraâs cracked windshield to my specification. The whole negotiation was pretty low key and hassle free. I was exceedingly pleased. Next comes the finance manager, Mike Mack. Another low key, down to earth guy. I usually see the finance managerâs office as being the car dealer equivalent of the Octagon. Not this time. Mile is the first finance manager Iâve dealt with that didnât have gold cuff links. When you see him ask him about his connection to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Mike walked us through the financing and associated sales paperwork, explaining everything and answering all my questions. Again, no stress, no hassle.
My wife brought the Xterra back a few days later to get the windshield replaced. When we had purchased the Xterra I had specified an OEM windshield. It turned out that this was several times more expensive than what the sales team had anticipated, but Yeti was good to their word and installed a brand new OEM windshield for us. Jesse Fretag in the service area took good care of my wife while she was there and Wes provided her with a loner car so she could go shopping while she waited (Thanks Wes). All in all one of the best car buying experience weâve had in our many years of buying both new and used cars. Thanks again Wes,...
Read moreI was on a road trip in Yellowstone when my car started failing. Engine light turned ON. We drove to Jackson hole to try and find a place to get it check. I went to a couple of places and they recommended we go to this dealer since they are A Jeep dealer. Jesse was friendly and I think he got good intentions. He said they were all booked but will try to take a look at the car. Coil 2 was failing and probably the spark which we knew from another place in Yellowstone. We left the car there on Thursday and came back on Friday around noon and at the time nothing was done. They started testing and almost around 5 came back and say they needed to do more testing as they did not know what was the problem. They donât work on weekends so they said they will check on Monday. since we are from Utah we decided to leave the car and come back when the job was done. Monday I did not hear from them. They called me back on Tuesday and said they needed it to replace all coils and plugs and plus other things everything was going to be $1800 which I thought it was super expensive for something that took him 4 days to diagnose. I spoke to my mechanic and he said it should not be that expensive. I told them I wouldnât do the job with them and I will come pick up the car. They charged me $255 plus taxes for diagnostic and insisted I shouldnât drive the car. Even though I drove the car from Yellowstone to there, and the car was drivable. This is why I wouldnât recommend this place: like I said my car was drivable when I took it there, when my mechanic went to pick it up. They have disconnected some cables and the car wouldnât start. I paid for a diagnostic if The client doesnât want to do the job you are supposed to LEAVE THE CAR AS IS. I donât see other reason why they would do that other than to make it seem like the car was not drivable. Thank God my mechanic went to get it instead of me. Otherwise I would have been stuck paying an overpriced fix. My car got fixed for less than 1k and this included the amount they charge me to bring it to Salt Lake City. And by the way they were able to drive the car back so not true the car could not...
