I never write negative reviews but this was the worst experience my friend and I had in Jackson. We asked the waitress for a glass of pinot noir, asked her what kinds she had. She responded “I don’t know.” So, we said “oh that’s fine, just bring us what you do have.” My glass had floating film on the top of the wine. The glass was also half poured. We also received the wine 20mins after ordering and we just came for the glass of wine. When we did finally see the waitress again, she brought the bill and I told her I couldn’t even drink my glass… that the bottle of wine must have gone bad because of the floating particles in my drink. She said “oh, sorry”. The glass was 15 dollars for wine I didn’t even drink. It was a shame because I just had finished a 9mile hike and was really looking forward to the glass with my friend. After returning home, I googled their menu and there was a 8 dollar house pinot, she could have given us that. Maybe the food is good but the wine and service is not.

Listen, I’ve eaten wings across the world and nothing prepared me for the flavor wizardry happening at this place. The wings? CRISPY. SAUCY. JUICY. Like they were kissed by a buffalo and baptized in a volcano. And when they say “hot buffalo,” they don’t mean midwestern spicy, they mean call-your-mom-and-apologize hot. Now the burger. Oh man. This thing strutted out of the kitchen like it knew it was the Beyoncé of beef. Perfectly cooked, juicy inside, seared outside, stacked with so much flavor it felt personal. I'd put it up against a Michelin-starred dish and still keep both kidneys. The staff? Absolute legends. Zipping around like caffeinated angels, dropping food and beer with the speed of light. Raise their pay. Knight them! TLDR: I would move here. Sell my house. Enroll my kids in the local school. Tell my dog we’re starting a new life. Just to eat these wings and burgers every day. KUDOS TO THE CHEFS. KUDOS TO THE STAFF. KUDOS TO WHOEVER OPENED THIS PLACE

The Bird is about a 10 minute drive, around 5 miles south of Jackson city center. The place is okay, not bad and not great. What makes it stand out is the price. It is cheaper compared to other restaurants in Jackson and the serving portions are big, so if you are looking for affordable meals this is your place. We ordered garlic Parmesan wings and the sauce was really good but the chicken itself was dry, probably overcooked. We also ordered a burger medium but it came out more done than expected. The fries were pretty good though. This place is kid friendly and wheelchair accessible. You find your own seat where you feel comfortable and they will serve you after. Overall it is a decent spot if you want big servings and good prices, but the food quality was just okay.

If I could put zero stars, it wouldn't be bad enough. Originally rated The Bird 5 stars upon first visit. Returned one week later because we enjoyed the atmosphere and food. When seeing the hostess we told her 4, preferably in bar area if possible. We were told there was not an available table in bar area so we took another table which was perfectly fine. Immediately when seated I noticed that there was a high top available. Our waitress arrived at the table and we were asking if we could be seated at the high top. The very unfriendly hostess came over and told the waitress that we could not have the table, that she told someone they could have it. The hostess then went over and ask the next couple in line how many, and then proceeded to seat them at the high top. So the hostess had not told someone they could have it, and apparently was just showing her tail. This hostess had also just ignored a lady that was trying to ask her about a pick up order, and told her to go wait in line. The couple she seated at the high top did not even want to sit there, and were getting up to see if there was a different table. I noticed this on my way to the restroom so I ask my wife to see if we could get the high top. So my wife stood by the high top to ask if we could have it. Apparently while I was in the restroom the hostess told my wife she could not have the table, and if she didn't like the table she was at, she could find one at another restaurant. Then she had the audacity to say, well which is it? My wife told her she was going to wait on me to get back from the bathroom. The hostess then went to her bar manager, I guess, and fabricated a lie saying that my wife had cussed her, and she needed to ask us to leave. All this within 5 minutes while I was in the restroom. The bar manager came over and cowardly, while I was not back yet, and told my wife she needed to make her way towards the door. My wife was in complete shock. Now we were there with our 13 and 16 year old sons, so we were not rowdy drinking all day hoodlums. Upon returning from the restroom my wife told me we were leaving, and turned towards the door and started walking out. So I was not aware of what had gone on, and I'm pretty sure it was done intentionally while I was in the restroom because had I known what had happened, it would have not gone well. After hearing what happened in the car as we were leaving, I called to speak to the manager and he was completely rude, take it now this is the one the little hostess went to get to ask my wife to leave. He was absolutely an assh..., and gave no explanation other than the complete lie that was told to him by the hostess. This little hostess is costing this business no telling how much money if this is any indication of how she conducts herself on a nightly basis. In 10 minutes that I observed her, she was totally rude to 3 different customers, and all she had to do was lie to this bartender to have her way. I know this review is long winded, but this needed to be told. I would never recommend anyone ever go to this business for even a cup of water if you were dying!

All good reviews are from locals. They...

had a deeply disappointing experience at The Bird in Jackson, WY, due to what felt like racially discriminatory treatment. At around 4 p.m. on March 30, my partner and I sat down (there is "self seating") and waited quite a while before a server, Izzy, handed us menus. When we asked about a cup of utensils on the table—uncertain if they were leftover from previous guests—she scoffed and sarcastically replied, “Yeah, that’s your silverware!” This response was unnecessarily rude, but we brushed it off.

As time passed, we realized no one had come to take our order. Eventually, a tall, bearded gentleman approached and asked if anyone had taken our drink order. We said no, and he apologized before taking our drink request. When I asked if I could modify a cocktail, he seemed confused and paused for a long time before telling me it was pre-mixed. I then asked if I could place my food order, and he hesitated before agreeing.

Throughout our visit, not one server checked in on us, while multiple staff members regularly attended to the surrounding tables—tables that were occupied exclusively by (caucasian/white) patrons. My partner and I are an interracial couple (I am Black, and he is white), and the contrast in service was glaring. We did NOT receive the same level of service as the other customers, which is extremely disappointing that this is happening in 2025.

When we finally requested to speak with a manager or owner to provide feedback, we were met with hostility. The man we spoke to first introduced himself with one name, then later gave us another, before claiming to be the owner. Apparently his name is "Dan," but he originally told us it was Dale/or Will, one of those. Instead of listening to our concerns, he was dismissive, condescending, and even used profanity during our conversation. He accused us of having an “agenda” simply for flagging the issue and outright refused to provide the name of the original server we had interacted with, who we learned was supposedly named Izzy.

His unprofessionalism and unwillingness to acknowledge a valid customer concern were alarming. So was the fact that the owner could not be honest about his real name or his employees names... definitely shows that this place has something to hide. Given this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone seeking fair and...

Went in today for bottomless bloody Mary’s and ended up spending well over $100. The food was great and the service from the waiters was great, although I am COMPLETELY disappointed with the bar. I quickly downed 5 bloody Mary’s hoping to get alittle buzz and found myself walking out with not even a buzz.... for $15 with endless bloody’s sounded like a deal, but the drinks were not good enjoyable at all. I found myself trying to do whatever I could to make them taste good... then ontop of that, we then asked if they could change the football game that was over to one that was about to start and instead of having good costumer service and politely explaining why the tv couldn’t be changed to another channel, he was extremely rude about it. I’ve worked in the service industry for years and working at a sports bar Were it can get stressful during football season, but never in my life have I met anyone so standoffish towards a costumer. I just moved to Jackson and was excited about finding a new drinking place on the weekends but unfortunately I will NEVER be back...
