The Fox Salon — Local services in Jacksonville Beach

After moving to a new state, I had the daunting task of finding a new salon. After researching several salons near me I came across The Fox Salon with their 5 star reviews. After reading through the reviews and looking through photos of the salon and client photos I decided to book an appointment. On their website, is a specific form to fill out if you are a new client where you answer several questions about your hair type, hair goals, provide photos of the front and back of your hair and inspiration photos. I was contacted by the owner, Carrie, and she spent time asking me about my hair, looking through the photos I had provided and laying out a game plan for what we could do with my hair. She also was very transparent about the cost and time. I went ahead and booked my appointment with her. When I arrived, I was greeted immediately, offered a beverage and given a seat while I waited for my appointment. The salon smelled wonderful and the music playing was exactly my style (Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, little worship much here and there, etc). Once I sat in Carrie's chair she was so thorough and spent 4 hours (yes, my hair needed a lot of help since I have gray coverage on top of highlights - 4 months grow out) turning my hair into the hair of my dreams. My hair tends to labor on the warm side so we discussed that (which most stylists I have been too in the past haven't taken the time to do which as resulted in my highlights being too brassy or orange, yikes!) but not Carrie! I am absolutely in love with the color of my hair! She also provided a suggestion for my hair cut to help provide more shape and the haircut has really made a difference and I'm loving it. All in all, I had such a great experience and was so pleased with how Carrie is as a hairstylist and how she runs her salon. You can tell she cares about people and her hairstylists. I...

Okay so….

The ONLY reason I hesitate to write this review is because Carrie already stays booked and I don’t want to share her with y’all 🙈

But, alas, I love her so work so much and I need to make that known. Credit where credit is due, am I right?!

FYI my hair is: 👉🏽thin (like y you can see my scalp) 👉🏽fine (think strands of silk delicate) 👉🏽wavy (but given the 2 previous components, we may as well just call my curl pattern: frizz)

And so naturally I dream of having voluminous, smooth hair, right? Somehow Carrie actually made that dream a reality when she started putting extensions in my hair. I had a history of buying tape-ins from a fancy hair brand (which shall remain nameless) and of course tried my hand at Amazon ones 🤦🏻‍♀️ I eventually came to the conclusion that the glue was just “supposed” to rip my hair out each time, so tbh I gave up and started clipping fake hair in and out each day. 😅

💖This angel took her time to color match and get the perfect amount of hair (at first I was a lil shocked by the amount of hair she suggested but trust me, just trust her). 💖She’s a master at putting them in - my scalp never gets red bumps from pulling!

Love this salon! Elese was really amazing and took the time to really listen and walked me through my appointment. Definitely has a gift and does beautiful work. This is such an innovative salon that is doing bleaching treatments that no other salon in Jax has even heard of. Look into Albage-NYC, LA, Miami, Chi-Town are all doing this type of bleaching. Carrie is such an amazing stylist and owner. I am completely blown away at the time she took to make my hair look amazing. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair. Carrie knows hair and she os the only salon that’s updated on the latest trends and hair innovations. If you are looking for a salon that has talented staff, services, and will go above and beyond, look no further. My only regret is that I wish I would’ve not wasted my money at other salons.
