Today, I had a frustrating experience with the company I purchased my $9500 HVAC system from three weeks ago. They failed to address my pleas for help today : no answer, leaving me disappointed and without A/C. However, my experience with Huggins turned the situation around completely.
I called Huggins and within less than two hours, I had a perfectly functioning and cool A/C system. The initial representative I spoke with was attentive and empathetic, understanding the urgency of my situation. He even provided me with a time window to make a decision, whether to endure the heat (since it was still under warranty) and wait for the original company to respond and send an installation team, or opt for immediate repairs.
To compare prices and availability, I reached out to a couple of other companies, but I quickly called Huggins back. The competitors quoted me rates of $295 and $350 for same-day after-hours service, while Huggins offered a reasonable rate of only $175. Their affordability was a pleasant surprise.
I must commend Steven, the technician who assisted me. He had an excellent approach, showing great expertise and thoroughness in diagnosing and troubleshooting the issues. His efforts were truly commendable, and he proved to be a valuable asset to your company. Give this man a raise!!!

Read moreMy $6400.00 package unit was installed during May 2024. It was discovered during October 2024 the Heater was not working, nothing worked. When it was checked the technician determined that the cable connecting the Heater was needing replacement. The technician who installed it agreed that they didn't check the Heater before completion of the install. In talking with "Buck" he states that he needs to create a Invoice for the cable and also charge me for labor to come out as well as the day before (it took 2 days to remedy) which I Strongly Disagreed with. I stated that had they checked the Heating at installing the issue would have been discovered and resolved, however Buck stated that they don't check it when installation is done during the summer ( May) months. The technician backed this up too (The house be too hot inside to check out the heater). I suggested that should that be the case, after 30-45 minutes of running time with the New AC unit, the house should be Cool enough to validate the operation of the heating side of the unit Thus, "The Unit is Fully Functioning". Same goes for replacement during cold months. I was charged $300.00 (as the invoice stated) for Cable which cost $1.07/Ft. Had they completely checked All Functions of the New Unit when they installed it, they won't have to spend 2 days installing a new cable. I paid $1250.00 for the new install Labor, and certainly it would would be a small fee added for 20 Feet of Cable. Read moreCalled Huggins on Monday of this week, and the person who answered the phone told me they couldn't get to my home till Thursday, (TODAY). This morning I called to see about an ETA and the same person answered the phone and told me that he wasn't sure that they hadn't built the schedule yet and the owner wasn't in yet, at around 9 am this morning. At around 12:30, the same guy calls me back and tells me that the owner doesn't want to come out, because it would be a waste of time and it's hot outside and the temp in the house is going to be 6 to 8 degrees or more higher than the thermostat is set at!! I mean WHAT!! When I told him this has never been an issue and that it was unprofessional that they were telling me this, he said hang on, let me talk to the owner again. He then gets back on the phone and say, is it ok if we come out tomorrow? UNBELIEVABLE
First off, if that was the case, why didn't you tell me that on Monday when I called you? What kind of successful business tells its customers that they don't want there business? If you don't want to work then don't answer your phone!
Very Unprofessional and as a note, I called another company, they came out today, (SAME DAY) checked and I needed 3 lbs of R410A, Found a small leak in my system and repaired it, but even bigger than that, I am now going to purchase a new unit from the company that came out today, and because of their professionalism, they will be doing all the AC work for my company, which has offices all over...
