C/TNT Cards & Collectibles — Local services in Jamestown

I am all about supporting local business, and I have been willing to pay more for things in this store just to keep supporting a store my kids love close to home. Been doing business here for a few years now and my kids loved going to the local card store. I see all the reviews that talk about how good he is to work with, and I had the same experience…until he had the chance to do the right thing for the right reasons for my kids. I called ahead to have him hold 2 boxes of cards for my kids while they were on their way into the store from out of town, and Darrell assured me he would set them in the back for them as he has done for many of his other loyal customers. He gave me his word, and I trusted this. When the kids arrived, they were disappointed to hear that he had sold them to another one of his customers before they arrived. When I went to talk with Darrell about it, he became very defensive and was full of excuses. I politely informed him that not honoring his word is not a great way to show good customer service. He became upset, dismissed my concerns, and then said, “Oh well. I guess I am not a man of my word.” I left and won’t be back. Nor will my kids. True colors show unfortunately. C/TnT Cards and Collectibles is a great place! The exterior, and well the interior too, might be a little off-putting to some. There is no refined look here. The proprietor, Daryll, makes up for that 110%! He loves to talk collectibles with patrons, almost any genre! His prices are fair for the small shop he runs, and there is a small space for folks to sit, off of the main display room. He welcomes CCG players to play in events and casually, as space allows.
