My MacBook Pro was sitting in a pool of coffee while I was away from my desk for a few minutes. I immediately started searching for laptop repair places near me to either save what hopefully wasn't FUBARed or to prevent any liquid damage from happening.

Time was of the essence, so I walked in without calling ahead. I explained what happened, and an employee named John examined the laptop, and explained that I should be ok due to the design of the bottom of the MacBook Pro being designed to be resistant as possible for the type of spill that happened.

I still asked him to open up the laptop to examine it, and he entertained my request: he opened the laptop up, showed me what it looked like, and cleaned the sticky mess with anti-static cleaning solution. He even cleaned out the thick clumps of dust that has accumulated in the fan fins over the years! John that there might be a weird smell due to the cleaning solution that he used, and that is completely normal. He answered all of my questions that followed, and finished everything within 10 minutes, free of charge.

I've been using my computer all day since bringing it in, and I think my computer is going to live another day! I was dreading the idea of bringing this computer to the Apple store and shelling out a ton of money in a panic, so I'd say I am very lucky to have friendly, knowledgable professionals that are like these guys in my neighborhood. Although he brought a large assortment of tools, the cracked screen could not be removed without possible damage because of the way the laptop (Azus G752) was designed. I'm from a small farming community on the outskirts of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Visiting friends in Chicago and my phones screen goes black. I'm in a complete panic.
