IL Giardino Del Dolce — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

This place is fantastic!

My grandparents are celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary and pretty much all my life I've heard of these specific pastries they had at their wedding. They couldn't remember what they were called and for years my grandma tried to find a bakery that made them to no avail. This year I decided to try to track these things down. After all what do you get people who've been married so long?

After calling what felt like every Italian bakery in the city I called up IL Giardino and explained what I was looking for. They knew exactly what i was talking about and while they didn't make that specifically he knew they made something very very similar.

Basically, they were amazing. They brought tears to my Nanas eyes and put a big smile on my papas face. They knew exactly what they were and couldn't wait to dig in. They ( the profiteroles) were delicious. Not exactly the same as the elusive wedding pastry but, from what my grands said, pretty close!

While I was at the bakery I also picked up cookies, foccia, and some pastries and they all have been amazing. The cookies and foccia are just like my grandmas used to make. It was like going back to huge family dinners and holidays.

The staff that I dealt with both on the phone and in the bakery were wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

We had a wedding luncheon for our granddaughter. 1st date was canceled due to bad weather conditions and had to cancel the order, rescheduled March 2nd. Ordered a wedding cake and sweet table trays. Enzo and Amanda were the best. Enzo was very understanding, accommodating and caring. Amanda was amazing. She helped us with the cake design and choosing the right size trays. Her suggestions were perfect!! The wedding cake was absolutely beautiful, moist and exactly as pictured. The trays were so fresh and delicious. Our guests were amazed how delicious everything was. Amanda was so kind and took so much time with us. The customer service and product was wonderful. Been going to this bakery for years and it's always been the best. Everyone at the luncheon was asking for the bakery name. Thanks to Enzo and Amanda for always taking the time to accommodate the customers. You are the best and very much appreciated. This place is FABULOUS! I can always depend on the great Cannolis at Il Giardino Del Dolce, when I don't have time to make them myself. They're my favorite, next to the Sicilian Cassata (or Cannoli Torte, as Americans say) and of course, the Zuppa Inglese Torte, which my family loves! It's best to call ahead if you're buying a large amount of Cannolis or other pastries for an event. Even in a "crunch" and you forget or are in a bind, the staff here is always willing to "make it happen" and provide options. Not once have I ever heard, "Sorry, we're out" or "Sorry, try back later." Staff is never "snippy" or rude. They never make me stand there waiting for somebody to even acknowledge me. They're ready to help me, even before I've decided. This place has been our favorite for many years, and the best of all, it's only about ten (10) minutes from my home! ...
