Piggly Wiggly Jemison — Local services in Jemison

This is the only grocery store in Jemison, AL. You have Dollar General and Family Dollar as well close by. Some of the items are ridiculously over priced and this is family owned. I purchased chocolate syrup years back and it was soured but the date was current. It was a Piggly Wiggly brand syrup. I brought it back to exchange and refused bc I didn't have a receipt for the item. I literally drove 10mins to exchange and they refused. The older woman that was there (maybe 50-60yrs) was very rude and had an attitude. I was upset bc my child wanted chocolate milk. After that, I intentionally started going to Walmart. I do shop there but only if I can't get at other stores. There fresh corn on cob is very limited. There hamburger meat is outrageously high. Sometimes it will be reduced bc its not being sold bc its so high. Drinks, Chips (NameBrand) is high and can get it cheaper at Dollar General. Milk is cheaper at DG as well. Sometimes their steaks, ribs, pork will be on sale so...

The lady that owns and runs this store is extremely rude to customers. She thinks that since she has the only grocery store in a 15 mile radius that she's entitled to be able to treat people anyway she wants and take advantage of people. The whole store is extremely overpriced. The produce is not worth buying, it's very rare that you find a decent buy on meats. You are better of driving an 15 extra minutes to Winn-Dixie in Clanton or Lucky's Food Land in Montevallo. Both have a great meat department and Winn-Dixie has great produce. Friendly staff that welcomes you upon entering & bags groceries well. The produce section was fresh with a wide variety. The meat section looked good, with quality options. One of my favorite sections is the freezer section with an amazing selection of vegetables, especially numerous varieties of peas & beans. All prices were reasonable.
