No. 1 Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Jemison

I’ve tried several Chinese take out places recently in Montevallo, Calera, and Clanton. I haven’t been impressed with any of them. They all shared the same thing in common, bland and horrendously overpriced. We had to go through Jemison today and I decided to try No. 1 China. I’m glad I did. I got the Mongolian beef with fried rice and it was excellent. The beef was cooked perfectly. The egg rolls were kind of small, but were very good as well. The only complaint I could have (and I really don’t) is they asked me if I wanted it regular or spicy and I told them the spicier the better. I'm so sad this is the only American Asian cuisine in Jemison-Thorsby.

To the owners of this establishment: You guys should go sit down and eat at the wonderful restaurant Mr. Lin’s in Helena. Maybe you could get some inspiration in their delicious & consistent quality of food and bring it back into your restaurant. Don’t give up on the people of Chilton...

Very nice staff, clean restaurant, excellent food. I always call my order in ahead of time, as they generally take 15 to 25 minutes to prepare your order. You just call and ask to place an order for pickup, and they'll take your order down and let you know how long it will take, then once you arrive you can go ahead and pay at the counter while you wait for the goods.
